When did the 2 hour limit come in?
Anyone know? I think it was sometime in the late 70s, when F1 began to be shown on TV regularly. I think the 2 hour limit was only brought in due to media reasons.

I don't know, but I have the last 15 minutes of Hockenheim 93 on tape, and i'm sure that was 2 hours 15 minutes long or something.

Actually no, thats lies, Hockenheim 93 was apparrently 1hr 18 minutes...

Canada 1981 was stopped after 63 of the 70 laps due to reaching the 2 hour limit.

Monaco 1996 also ended after 2 hours, the full race distance was not completed.
