neilap should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
A question for DaMatta

Then why would one join Toyota? I would think next year Jordan has a better chance at winning than Toyota. Teams like BAR have proven over and over again that money does not make a good team. Even though Toyota is building their own cars it does not mean they will be winning in two years.

Is it sure that he joins Toyota? Anyway, I agree, money don't make you succesful, in F1 at least, but the lack of them certainly drag you down...

Toyota certainly has more future than Arrows...

The guy's just having a go at Ford.

Toyota might like him that little bit more for it.

I think Toyota would be a good place to go. Money doesn't buy success in F1 - but it certainly helps. You can't win races with no money.

Well...for their first year in F1, it hasn't been that bad. Money may not buy success in F1, but it is definaly a pre-qualifier for it! ...and Toyota have got lots of it...

If there's one team to make huge strides up the grid in the near future, it's Toyota. While the rest of the field is going into cost-cut mode, Toyota are free to spend their money on R&D. You're right that money doesn't guarantee success, but it is definately a requirement.

Valve Bounce has been held in scrutiny for further testing
Toyota will pull out all stops to beat Honda next year. So if da Matta goes there, he will be onto a good thing if he performs; otherwise, it will be a quick exit. Toyota has shown that they can be just as ruthless as any other team seeking success. There will be no intervening period of adjustment - they will be totally focussed on results from both drivers.

The rest of the field isnt going into cost cutting mode. Mclaren just declared 48mil in PROFIT, almost 20% of the budget

Supposedly they have a good motor but the chassis is ****. Either way they looked very fast last race. However there arnt too many races like that left in F1 so they still need some major work. They do have the money to invest if they want to though, so eventually something has to happen. Lets see if they look like they did in CART for most of their time there.

As for DaMatta I think he is a nice guy but he is not going to turn anything around. Salo at least had experience. Again, they (Toyota) know nothing about racing and competition. Some businessman decided they needed to change drivers maybe because they are not high profile enough. IMO they should have kept at least one of the drivers it only makes sense. Then again, what do I know?
