RWC should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Should jaguar now TRY to keep irvine?!

While not a particular fan of eddie irwhine,i can't really pick a fault with his comments recently about having to fight to get the car changed for the better. It would seem that he was totally in the right-that is,if he didn't keep pushing them they'd still be wollowing somewhere down the nether regions of the grid.
But how hard should they try to keep him(ie how much$$)?
Now that the car IS better, maybe they could attract another good development driver?
To my HUGE surprise he has achieved SOMETHING.If you were boss of jag would you keep him?

Nope put him in as test driver if he will do that but let some new blood in and get him used to the car and team for the next year as EJ is not going to carry the team for much longer.

I personally would keep Irv, if i was boss at Jag, he's willing to lower his price to stay in F1, has proved, if the rumours are true that he knows more than PDLR what way to go to make the car better and is the only driver, of the 2 to have scored any points, and to be honest, looked like scoring points! PDLR looked a hot prospect when he was at Arrows, but now i'm not so sure!

Back to Irv, i'd also point out, if i was Eddie Jordan, i would try to poach Irv from Jag for the same reasons i stated above for Lauda wanting to keep him.

Jag have apparently gave Eddie a new offer to convince him to stay next year.....But the offer came through Gunter , not through Niki...thats a bit strange dont you think ?

What with this, and Niki's apparent lack of knowledge of the Jordan/Cosworth deal, i think the term size 10 up the jacksey springs to mind! Rumour has it that he'll revert back to just being in charge of Cosworth, with Gunter taking over control of Jag.

No. Webber's the way forward. And he's cheaper than Eddie. Eddie wouldn't cop a test role. Irvine's on his way to Jordan.

Nope. Jaguar need some young guys in that car. One result doesn't change the fact that Irvine has been completely inconsistent this year.

Unless PDLR also brings home the bacon in the last two races, I reckon the current drivers are both out. Webber and Pizzonia could be the team next year.

Aaahhh.
As some of you said-the testing option would be best(for jag).IF eddie would cop it.....
I agree that fast youg guys are the best choices for drivers now.DLR has been faster than eddie too many times this year.Eddie ONLY tries when there is hope for points

Valve Bounce has been held in scrutiny for further testing
What about Mark Gene? He deserves a drive, doesn't he. And he's also proved himself as William's test driver in that capacity.

Gene has resigned as a Williams tester. They should definitely sign Webber to replace Irvine, he is not only younger, he is also more professional IMO in his approach to testing, racing and PR. Pedro has another year on his contract so they might as well let him stay, buying him out to just replace him with an unknown quantity like Pizzonia is just a waste of money.
Who knows if Jaguar can continue their forward progression, I know of a certain former WDC whose services will be available in 2004.

all this goes to show the amount of c*** involved in f1.

i can't keep up with all the rumours at this stage. There needs to be an announcement from someone soon.

There are certain things that are certain. PDLR is a waste of an f1 seat. Webber will be in a jag. Eddie will be in f1, probably with Jordan. Pizzonia is the latest hotshot to fancy himself in f1. Join the list.

its really boring at this stage.
