Lots of pictures for you!

Wow! That was more work than I had anticipated!

I decided that I'd like to have a little "photoalbum" from the races I've attended, to share them with you guys. So that's exactly what I did. Took a few days to get all the pics together, (scanning them from a vidcam), and I just got done uploading them all into a new website-type-thingy I started today.

There's alot of them - 162 in all. Some of the "albums" are two or three pages long.

Hope you enjoy them.

Cheers!

Good work MacDaddy. That's the spirit. I'm currently loafing around at work but I'm gonna check em out when I get home. I have a photo to post later too, I don't if the car I'll post is a Champcar or not. Maybe someone can help

Is this an Indycar or Champcar?
It was taken about 1993 I think doing some exhibition laps in NZ; it appears to be painted up with local sponsers.

Tanalised, its a mid 1980's march Cosworth. The idea was that Kiwi's could buy and run ex Cart Indycars as formula libre cars for fun and not alot of money in NZ as a home grown formula. At that time and even now you can buy ex CART Lolas and reynards for $25-35000US as rolling chassis. race-cars.com has four ex-Gurney Reynards,(97/98) no engines for $85000US-for the lot!

ah. Thanks Greg. I think Ken Smith was running it (or the Bennetton that was on track with it at Pukekohe)

Yeah I did. I think its good to share your racing experiences with others, it adds to the brotherhood of racers (or sisterhood if applicable!)

Tanalised I think the car Ken had was not a Bennetton but an 89/90 turquoise coloured Leyton House March-Judd 3.5 V8. Kenny did demo's with it during the summer series and earlier this year it was advertised as for sale in british motor sport mags as being for sale with Kens name and phone no.

Thanks, hakkiman. I'm sure I'll find something to add in the future. As I say, I've got more photos around here somewhere, just haven't been able to find them. We took some good pics one year while standing on the S/F line at MIS. That was pretty cool. I had no idea that the banking on the frontstretch was that great! The walk from the infield area to the outside wall could make you tired! And there was a pic of my wife and I standing on the podium. And I think I've got some video around here from the 1994 DGP to add sometime soon.

The idea came to me a short time ago, when we had a thread about Gonzalo Rodriquez. There are a couple of pics of him in there. Likewise Greg Moore and Alex Zanardi.

Greg.n - yes the other car is a turquoise colored one; you must be right. Did you see them together in action at Puke?
They were flying around the track.

Not a problem, Bizz! I'm glad you enjoyed them, as I hope everybody here did. That's what it was all about in the first place!

I guess I was trying to convey a sense of "being there" to those of us who have never been to race, never walked through the paddok, never witnessed a superspeedway. The opportunity to see things from a fan's perspective.

Putting all that together sure brought back alot of memories, let me tell ya that!

CART ROCKS!
