Busch Wackers!
This must have been discussed before, but not recently.
It's the question of Winston Cup drivers racing in the Busch series. Why isn't the number of races that they can do limited? It is making it into two Cup Series, which isn't what it's not to be! |

If the Cup and Busch are on the same track the same weekend then they will use the Busch teams to get what the drivers feel as experience on the track, setup, pit strategy etc.Sometimes it works, some times it does not.Hope it helps.

That's the reason for doing it, but that said it's not their series. It's good for the BGN drivers to 'watch the experts at work' as well, but when you about 25% of the field made up of Cup drivers it's a bit pathetic.
I remember Benny Parsons suggesting a limit on number of Cup drivers per race and number of races that a Cup driver can do so that the Busch guys still get a good chance of being in the action in their series. Comments? |

To be 25% cup drivers there would have to be over 10 cup drivers in each BGN race. That is NOT happening. Most BGN races where they are at the same track has 3-4 cup drivers in it. Jeff Burton, Mikey Waltrip, and Jimmy Spencer are the three most common to see in a BGN race. It's not the numbers of cup guys in the race that makes a difference but its their actual dominance. It seems every time Mikey gets in a BGN car he's got a top 5. That is what needs to be questioned not their numbers. How about just having the cup boys start at the back of the pack?

No! Too us that know the sport know that the cup drivers that race busch are ones that need the little league practice. The guy Mike has proven again and again, he is only a busch racer and won't be much more!

RL3....dont get caught up in BD's offensive posts. There is nothing wrong with dirt tracks and you get to see some exciting racing. Far from being "little league", there are drivers in it for the "love of racin" and they are great to watch.

There are drivers at my local dirt track (Devils Bowl) that would do alot better in Busch against the cup cherry pickers then some of those guys in Busch now.
