Old Logos Sticking Around!
If you go to Motorsport.com...look at CART pictures from the first race and you will notice drivers with old sponsor livery's on their helmets, suits? and car. (1) Jimmy Vasser still has a Shell logo on his helmet. (2) You will notice in one picture of Oriol Servia, that he has a white patch covering a logo on the back of his suit. If you look close enough, you will see Toyota Motorsport(s) underneath that patch. (3) Maybe somebody can help me out with the next picture. It's Alex Tagliani sitting in his car and if you look at the upper part of his viser, he has Johnson Controls in the middle (of course), but on either side he has a logo (2) of Team Player's. At first I thought...he hasn't taken off the old logos from his Team Player's ride. Then I saw another picture...on the side of Tags car, the upper part of the car, their was that same logo again (Team Player's). Does annybody no if he is being sponsored by Team Player's and if not, what is the logo doing on his car?

Alex Tagliani's ride is paid for by Players, therefore the sponsorship on his helmet/suit. The other drivers, well toyota paid for all that stuff why not keep using it especially on a small team. Jimmy's helmet...well maybe he likes that helmet...

Heh, another good reason to just keep sponsors the hell off of helmets. Suits, cars, great, even the visor... But your helmet... Man, that's the one thing a driver takes with him wherever he goes!

I think there are Players logos on Tags' front wing endplates as well. I found that somewhat surprising, as I had been lead to believe that Canadian law forbade Players from sponsoring more than two cars.

But if the signage is "Team Players", is that acceptable?

Tag's ride is basically a Team Player's car run by Rocketsports.

The signage is Team Players.ca on the Player's cars too...
As for Vasser... Either they liked him so much they still sponsor him personally or he just likes the shell... |
