Brits win the most it's a fact!
Congratulations DC!
Your win in Oz is the 189th grand prix win by a British driver! (next nearest is Brazil with 84) Britains have also won the most World Championships 12 to Brazil 8. So why would a team want a driver from anywhere else if they wanna win? |

Because recent history tends to be fairly indicative of things in the near future, and germany has its hand on the past decades racing I suppose.

The Brits only called them Brits when they win. When they suck like Coulthard at almost every other race they are referred to as a Scot.

Brazil had 84 wins, but only 27 drivers. So the average Brazilean (sp?) driver is more than 2 times as succesful than the average Brittain driver. When looking at the average number of wins per driver, we get:

For instance, Finland and Austria had just a couple of drivers, so their average score may not mean a lot. And Brittain does put a lot of effort into motor racing, so there's bound to be a good Brittish driver at any time. |

There've not been 150 US drivers in F1, unless you're counting those who were in the Indy 500 when it counted for F1 points. |

I love the way Poms can't stand Scots, and then when they win they're British.

Talking of English success in motorsport, shall we start talking about the number of championships won by Williams, McLaren under Ron Dennis, Ferrari under Ross Brawn, or how about key individuals like Bernie Ecclestone etc. Methinks you wouldn't have much to talk about today if it wasn't for these chaps. And let's not even start on the history of Englsih companies like Lola, Reynard or March in the US. |

I'm with Lee on the Eddie Cheever thing, I never thought he was hot stuff, despite the fact that we are the same age and he was living the dream I had had for years. Cheever screws up the stats.
