DNQ should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Ferrari F2002 on Nordschleife!

OK, not really, but this has got to be one of the most impressive April Fools Day hoaxes I've ever come accross. Take a look at these pictures:

If you know German, read about it here: http://www.motorsport2000.de/index.p...inc&news=2867, otherwise struggle your way through this online translation:

F1: April, April! Ferrari tests on the north loop Schumacher worked on the Nordschleifen Setup The FIA is always good for a surprise. How oozed today, the engine haven decided world union end of the past week in a lightning tuning to permit the Nuerburgring north loop as official Formel-1-Teststrecke. Promptly the Scuderia Ferrari changed the test plans over and traveled with two current F2003-ga and the pilot Michael Schumacher and Felipe Massa to the Eifel. According to eye-witness reports, it let concern the Schumacher at first rather calmly. After some rounds the acting world champion had zeroed in itself however and drove into 6:12.0 minutes (by hand stopped) his fastest round? only seven hundredths of a second more slowly than Stefan Bellof in the work Porsche 956 with training for 1000 kilometers running 1983. The Nuerburgring GmbH was ready for no statement in the reference to the first Formel-1-Testfahrten on the north loop. From the surrounding field of the operator organization however at us it was near-carried that in the context of the Michael Schumacher daily is planned on 7 September 2003 demo rounds on the north loop. This would explain also the extensive construction measures at the north loop, with which in the winter more were renewed as 1,000 meters distance lining and more than twice as many meters of FIA fences. On request of Motorsport2000.de a Ferrari coworker confirmed the spontaneous test: where the Nuerburgring north loop for Formel-1-Testfahrten is approved, we had to use our chance. We drive in September demo rounds in the F1 Doppelsitzer by the Green hell. For this reason we began as early as possible to adapt our chassis and the Bridgestone tires on the distance new for us? Less pleased over morning noise disturbance some adjacents resident showed up approximately around the Nuerburgring. noise vergrault us still our hotelgaeste?, a hotelbesitzerin from Adenau was annoyed. a few calm day in the Eifel promises our customer in such a way and then which? Adenauer manufacturing one however already now look forward to a possible appearance of the Formel-1-Zirkus on the north loop. when the Fangio drove still at the ring, we had here still more than 300,000 spectators on the running weekends?, such a representative of the city administration opposite Motorsport2000.de. trade approximately around the Nuerburgring can only profit? Only few select racing courses in Europe, on which up-to-date no Grand Prix is delivered, are certified for the Formel-1-Testbetrieb of the FIA. Beside the north loop the courses in Fiorano, Jerez, Mugello and Nogaro rank among it. Only in England, Italy, Spain and France test travels are in each case permitted until seven days before the meeting, also on the Grand Prix distances.

Michael doesn't have anything close to the cajones it'd take, but it's doable! Use the Monaco setup (higher ride height, extra downforce for that margin of error if you find a corner you forgot was there!), ride on the outside of the Karusel (the banking would tear the car apart)... Wouldn't be that damn hard (all the downforce would keep the car firmly planted, no airborne excursions)!

I'd give anything to see the Sauber drivers try it early in the race week this year! Can you imagine the publicity?!

Bellof would do it...

I'd love to see it for real. Cruising at 60% it'd still be mega fun, just seeing an F1 car on this great track again.

The truck looks very dodgy, as the only way it could park where it is, would be to have the tractor unit only with no trailer.

Even taking the car round the outside of the Karrusell the circuit is still miles too rough. There are too many sudden dips on the racing line for a F1 car to survive.

It would be fun to see though.
