Nice Phase Three and a XR6T in the top 10. Not bad at all.

i bet the XR6 is a lot closer to standard than the monaro , not according to the official web site where they have the capacity listed as 6800 , yes it was the turbo version

After seeing the amount of time and money that was thrown at the Monaro (ie. at least a dozen guys in the service crew), it should of finished well ahead of the Falcon. The falcon also had turbo probs on the last day.

"Brilliant driver, car and team but yawn"

No way is targa a yawn. This was my first time as an official at targa and it was an absolute blast, even though I did not see much of the actual action. Definitly back next year to volunteer again.

If Holden hadn't stuffed up the fuel load of both Monaros when Brock was second outright (run out of fuel on day two mid stage) the result would have been a lot closer. I think the margin was around 15s at that stage.

There was only 15sec in it at the start of the last day- it was anyones event until Jim had favourable conditions on the last day.

But you'd still have to be invited- the Targa folk have driver/car standards that they like to uphold, to stop you from entering an old hack with the doors hanging off it, and the exhaust dragging behind..

<Yawn> not at the event but at the same brilliant driver and car winning almost every year. The variety of cars and classes is great but I wish someone else wouldwin it for a change.

But well done Jim.
