Congrats to Jourdain!!

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats on a great win, in a great race. The team really had him hooked up well! Like most oval races, it's all about setup.

Paul Tracy provided some of the most heart-stopping moments. That last move on Servia seemed to be very Greg Moorish... loved it! Unlike another racing league, we know he had to work for that!

Servia 2nd, I'm sure his time will come soon..

Tags was a bit dissapointing, I guess he didn't have the best setup.

And what do you think of racing at night? The attendance looked better than I've seen in years for any short oval open-wheel race. It's too bad it wasn't a little warmer, I think that contributed to all the crashes and long yellow periods. Still, a great start for this event at night!

Congratulations Jourdain!! A well deserved win. I’m happy for him. We knew it was coming soon and it finally did. The Tracy/Servia battle was excellent. Boy I’ll bet Tracy said some choice words at the end. Manning did a good job tonight.

Good for Jourdain, though the talent's definitly getting thin for him to win (a backmarker for _so_ long!)

Did anyone else see the interview with Chris Kneiffel on the new blocking rule, and refusing to admit what a bonehead he was at Lausitz?

Frankly, I think the new rule stinks. If they had someone competent as race director, the 1-move rule would work just fine!

Kneiffel was a stuttering idiot. I really see why PT called him a "Circus Clown" Where is Wally when you need him???

I remember when we used to complain about Wally, because he used to let certain drivers get away with anything, and others off the hook.

That said, Kneiffel clearly isn't up to the job, and that has nothing to do with his stuttering. Cart needs someone in there that will lay down the law, with some common sense and enforce it universally.

Did anyone catch the pre-race thing on Junqueira, with the Green Day song "Do you have the Time, to Listen to me Whine?"! classic!

Is it just me, or were PT's comments on the pit lane fiasco rather ego-centric. He didn't seem like much of a team guy saying he hasn't made any mistakes on the track, but the crew need to practice pit stops some more. That's not the way to keep the team on your side. Wonder if we'll see the same kind of thing that happened at Team Green last year here. Hope not.

As for Michel's win, all I can say is brilliant. Nice to see him bag his first. Wouldn't it be something if he took the title!

This was probably the most pleasant podium in a long time.

I am sure Kneifel is the nicest guy in the world, but he just isn't up to it as the Chief Steward. Then again we are supposed to give him years to get up to speed, err, I mean, scratch, right?

When things are going great, PT is the greatest guy ever. When it's not, better have those ear plugs ready.

Great to see Jourdain take the win he's been threatening to take for ages

Good to see Servia in 2nd, maybe he will be the 3rd maiden winner of the year.

In regards to their oval setup Newman-Haas is notorious for being as lost as Rodolfo Lavin is on a road course.

TSN cut away from the race before Jourdain got out of his car! I could not believe it! It was like being back at ABC/ESPN again!!!!! And what was of such desperate importance? SPORTS CENTRE! A show that they will rebroadcast at least five times this morning!

But it was an excellent "Saturday Night Sprint" (Lee, that is uncharitable to say Jourdain only won because he had no competition, when there was less than 2 seconds covering the first four positions on the grid!) and I am most relieved Bruno is unhurt; I was worried when they carried him away. That little "hymn" about having time to listen to him whine will end up his theme song if he doesn't change his attitude. Whoever found that has done the world a favour.

Kneifel sort of did admit that they had screwed Dominguez out of his win, and he also looked to me like someone who had been to the woodshed for an extended barracking. They should just admit they've made a big mistake with him and find some other former Trans Am driver to draft into the position -- or give it to Mario Andretti or Mo Gugelman.

All in all an excellent race and well done the whole crew.

Wooooo Hoooooo!

Way to go Michel!

Back in the Payton-Coyne days, he was never the fastest, but he never had the best equipment. He would normally struggle in qualifying, and charge through in the races, before his car would let him down. But since going to Rahal he has had a car that could do him some justice. Top effort!

I take it Jourdain won? After entertaining some friends all afternoon, I fell asleep sometime before Tracy's wheel fell off. Thinking ahead, I started recording on the VCR, only to learn this morning that the tape doesn't work! So I'm bumming big-time. I've been looking over their schedules, and I can't seem to find any rebroadcasts on either SV or TSN, so I'll have to wait until it goes up on the website.

I've been feeling bad for Moreno and his lack of results, and so to see his race end the way it did was sad.

I see that only thirteen cars were running at the end, so just about all of 'em get points. Good thing for Tracy, as his point for P12 is the only thing giving him sole possession of second in the championship. It's hard to believe that, despite 3 wins in 6 races, he's 10 points behind Jourdain!

Racing at night was awesome! Cleveland's gonna be even more spectacular, as the brake pads are going to be glowing. I'll just have to remember to stay sober a little longer for that one!

Just wait til they post the race on cart.com Speed on Demand! That's awesome for the off season too...

I agree with evo, I didn't like PT's comments either. They win as team and lose as a team. Being PT though, I'm sure (hope) he'll think better and apologise to his crew. They've won him races before.

I'm sure PT's crews are used to his blow-up, cool-down cycles. (Steve Challis has apparently been blowing up Servia and basically telling him to stop dogging it or lose his drive, and you see how much it helped! Bet he learned that working with Tracy.)

I was also sorry to see Lavin get into the marbles and crash -- and alarmed when he didn't get out right away although they were yelling at him about his car being afire! -- as he'd run a good clean race in the top 10 all night. Ovals seem to be his thing. Some people said the Reynards were just better on ovals, but I didn't notice Vasser or RHR doing anything remarkable all weekend. (Well except crash.)

Great race by Jourdain, truly dominating. I don't think ANYBODY from ANYWHERE would have beaten him, that car was truly dialed in. Servia had the speed maybe if Tracy wasn't always there harrassing him. That was great fun to watch Jourdain has been the most consistent driver in CART for a long time now and with Team Rahal backing him I can definitely see him taking the championship.
Roll on Laguna!!!

I think if there were 10 more laps Servia would have gotten him. His car was clearly the fastest when his tires were warm.

Well done job by Jourdain, Servia, Carpentier and Manning. But Junqueira...? Shure he is under pressure but he is one of the experienced drivers on the grid... and I am sorry for the Herdez team, that crash costs them Moreno's DNF and Mario a good result...
