Indeed...!! I've not seen any footage of the crash yet but the way I heard it from the drivers concerned, Eoin Murray backed off out of Graham Hill Bend for some reason and was collected by Rivett. Onslow-Cole and Butler-Henderson were amongst those caught up in the carnage that followed.

Just seen the video and its all a big mess, someone had a tankslapper out of druids and ran across the grass on the inside of Graham Hill bend, someone else further back also taken out on the run down. From what I could make out there was a separate incident between Murray and Rivett, commentators think they may have made contact as Murray was on the grass out of bottom bend and Rivett had a tank slapper which got the better of him.
Rivett was then collected by Adcock (who was flying in the restart with a banana shaped car) before a couple of others made another mess in the resulting melee including Onslow-Cole nearly being pushed into a roll. In other words a big shunt! |
