Indy champ?
Brands Hatch has certainly spiced up the race for the Independents Trophy with a double DNF for Collard.
Currently we have: Collard 119 Kaye 113 Breeze 99 Eaves 92 Kaye seems to be consistent if not having the outright pace to win, Breeze is really coming up fast now he's got his hands on a Vauxhall and that 307 is getting faster all the time. However I think Collard will probably just clinch it... |

I hope Robbie wins it. I like the other drivers a lot but Collard Racing is a TRUE privateer team.

Collard should win it but it would be great if Breeze could. I hope Carl gets a works drive next year or a decent ETCC spec car.

The 307 isn't quite level with the Astras yet so I think Dan will lose his title.
James K hasn't starred very much this year, he's been there to pick up the pieces and been quite lucky. And on his day Collard is the better of the two Astra drivers (in contention) so I'd have to go with him! But if Gavin Pyper was still racing... |

If Gavin was still racing he would win i'm sure.
But as he's not, i'm going to have to say Rob's the man to do it. |

I was talking to Carl on Sunday evening and he is confident of more success in the GA Motorsport Astra. With Collard failing to finish in both races it was a shame that Carl suffered with Battery failure in the second race after such a dominant victory in the first. The TWO drive through penalties in race two for pit-lane speed just made things worse. Regardless of who wins the Hilton Indepedents Cup, I would like it to go down to the last race as it did last year.

Collard...had lots of bad luck with his Clio last year, he runs the car himself (unlike most of the others) hes had his crash's, offs but shown his a true champion aswell. Tho i'd hate to see Vauxhall winning more championships this year (bit like Ferrari last yr...) I hope Collard gets that Indy crown!

Collard, Kaye and Breeze
Just 7 points between them in the independents cup, so who is going to win. I'd love to see Carl Breeze take the title but who ever does take it deserves it. Although it would be easily Gavin Pyper's if he had lasted the season.

Personally I think Collard deserves to win it, he has been the most consistant driver over the year and has had his fair share of bad luck too. So for sure gutts etc I go for Collard.

Collard deserves it more than Breeze. If it wasn't for bad luck for Rob, Carl would be nowhere near him now!

Rather see Breeze win it. At least he has a go instead of pootling round and making statements like "I want glory, but I'm also mindful of keeping out of trouble to help my chances in the championship", then moaning when he does make contact with another car.

If you have not seen the racing from Donington yet, watch the highlights at the weekend then think who you want to win.

Breeze is almost like Pyper - fast, and not afraid to mix it with the works cars up the front.
You know who would of been Indy champ if Pyper hadn't run out of cash. |

Why did GA choose Breeze for the seat? Was it to do with sponsorship or did they spot him as a great driver of the future? Personally I would have said Dan Eaves was a better driver but would he leave VLR?

it was just a money issue i think pyper had run out, breeze had good sponsors prepared to stump up the dough.

Plus Dan Eaves is firmly ensconced within the VLR setup.

I was hopign for Collard to win it even before Pyper dropped out, he's a true Privateer, has battled back from misfortune last year, and has acheived more than most.
Pyper could've beaten any of them, but I guess Turkington, Slight or Howell could've done ahd they remained in the Indies |
