A spanish customer's Courage ?
According to the french forum 'MotorLegend', a Courage could have been sold to a Spanish customer in April (the former SMG Courage driven by Philippe Gache) ; theymay have put a Chevy engine in it...
No news from this car since April ; please, Spanish members, give news ! This car could enter in LMES next year ! |

We heard the story in april too, but nothing else. Instead, another gossip: Racing Engineering, spanish F3 and dallara world series team evaluates purchasing a competitive car for LMES and Le mans. Team´s manager is the "cheery prince" Alfonso D´Orleans, who has competed at LM a few times with all his former repsol sponsorship. Last time his team was there (2001 with a porsche) they were a disgrace, but they have improved since, and nowadays they´ve a good professional team. Let´s see, but not much money for sportscar racing now in spain....

We've been following this one on DSC - Yves Courage has been assisting the team with the Chevy installation - They plan to enter selected LMES rounds in 2004 - No word on whether the car is ready for Bugatti

Not the first time we've seen a Chevy powered Courage.
An interesting choice I reckon, that's part of the appeal for me - F1 is all wild and crazy mega high-revving V10s whilst in sportscars we have screaming judds, burbling Turbo 8s, rumbling big block V8s - I miss the old Ferrari V12s mind Remember though this is not the only Chevy engined car in LMP next season, the Lister LMP runs with a Chevy based block too. |

I'm not questioning you, I am just not familiar with it.... Thanks! |

Just checked and yep, the #11 car driven by Henri Pescarolo, Eric Bernard and Franck Lagorce was a Courage C41 Chevy.
The car stopped out on course after just a couple of hours and retired |

It is the same car - C60 chassis 01 - I don't think Tim was confused though Saleen.
As far as I'm aware this would be the first C60 to run with a Chevy powerplant - it also explains why it's been a while coming - The team experienced a fair few problems fitting the engine and needed to wait until Yves Courage had got through the LM 24 hours before he could find the time to assist. |

I like the C60 chassis : it's low, and quite efficient, for a private maker I mean. Imagine if we have both the Judd and the Chevy together (in the C60 chassis) on the grid in LMES, oh boy !

I think there was a four engined car in Can-Am once. It didn't finish the race though....

Four engines ? Huh, you mean four motorbikes engines cramed in the chassis of a montruous Lola ?
When did Can-Am ended, BTW ? The 917 Can-Am was really impressive... |

The can-am car had four snowmobile motors, it was not very fast!
A car with 2 motors could be allowed if the power source is diffrent. ie. an Electric motor piggybacking on a normal motor to create a car with a green element to its thinking. Its the future. |
