Both surely are: whether better or worse than their daddies, it's early to say.
Both run in F3: Nelsinho in the British, Nico in the Euroseries Others: Mathias Lauda is running World series light Alan Jones' son (cant rememer his name) has recently tested a british F3 Last edited by climb; 17 Oct 2003 at 16:03. |

Nico tested for Williams last year and impressed. Nelsinho on the other hand is a British F3 race winner, which is usually a good thing.

Yes I have Nelson Jr race and he is quick, saw him drive from the back of the field at Donnington in a Wet-Dry race.

He'll test for Arden F3000 to get used to Jerez and to higher speeds.
Looks like the Williams test is scheduled for December. And oh yeah, the kid is quick! There are rumours that Jordan also offered him a contract... but I'd say that's more likely to see Piquet starting his first GP at Williams in 2005. Heard Piquet Sr saying that would be better if Schumacher didn't retire this year... Because if he does at the ned of next year, important seats will be available to his son. |

Re: Nelsinho TO test for WILLIAMS????
If I have 'Piquet, Rosberg, dan Jones' family name, maybe I would have a chance to test Williams cars... rotate:

Nelsinho looks to be pretty special, hopefully he'll be the next big Brasilian in F1, its been a long time without a world champion! (12 years now )

For what it's worth, here are my thoughts on whether the 'sons of fathers' that I have seen race this year are up to the job...
Piquet - YES. Made a couple of silly, basic errors (trying to get off pole in 2nd gear) but put them behind him and did a great job. Rosberg - YES. Ultimately very good, but erratic. Needs to calm down a bit and be more consistent. Prost - NO. Just doesn't have the outright speed or the necessary skill. Fabi - NO. Anyone who saw him in F3 in the past 2 years must agree. Yep, he only has to cause a huge pile up at the start of an F1 race, and he's got it...

I don't remember Jody ever trying to use the wrong pit lane entrance in a qualifying session and sitting looking at the locked gate and wondering what the hell was going on - it was an F3 meeting, they were using the GP circuit at Donington and coming into pit lane using the entry before Goddards - and just to make sure everyone knew he was dumb, Tomas went and did the exact same thing again in the second session!

We'll probably see both Nelsinho and Nico in F1 in another 3 or 4 years. They're both pretty young yet. |
