As has been said, if Red Bull are looking to get an American driver to F1, CART makes far more sense than the IRL. And it's races still attrsct far more viewers. A two-car lineup of Vasser alongside one of the youngsters from their programme would be the dream.

Cheever isn't the greatest of drivers but not a bad owner. If it means pulling a major racing sponsor like Red Bull into the series I say WOOHOOO!

And Alex Barron still won't have a ride.

Its really a shame so many talented American drivers and only two rides for all of them. That's if ASTJ dies and redbull does jump ship.

Have you seen a solid sorce on this or just speculation? I'm not a big Cheever fan, but I'd like to see Red Bull in C^RT. The whole Red Bull-C^RT-F1 connection makes sense, but I can't see Cheever comming here after the things he's said with regard to C^RT. Still...a lot of things have happened around here during the past three years that I would have bet would never have happened. Like so many things, I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I'm pretty sure we will see A.J. Allmendinger driving for RuSPORT in Champ Cars in 2004. So hopefully add one to the number of Americans driving in the series next year.

Tenoch, you're right about Manning. I didn't see that comming. I figured that he had a pretty solid ride with Walker for 2004.

Red bull would be great in CART and cheever well he can stay with the team if he is quiet and doesn't show his Putz face on camera.- he is just a sore loser and it rubs me the wrong way

Just remember, Red Bull and Vodka will make you go blind. Don't try it.

There have been sooo many Red Bull rumours about them sponsoring drivers/teams in the last year, that I wouldn't believe anything from them til you see the name on the car.

On Manning, he only had a ride with Walker if he could raise the funds...and he wasn't living much better than a college student, so I don't think he had much to throw around.

Under-aCheever to CART? Would he still be sucking back the Kool-Aid? Well, as long as he doesn't drive, that'll be fine. I'd be surprised if he could still fit his fat ass in a cockpit anyway.

Good to hear that Red Bull are coming to CART. Makes much more sense from a commercial stand-point.

Not going to happen. Cheever is trying to put together a deal to field two IRL cars.

Doesn't Cheever have a third year on his Red Bull contract?

If Red Bull where moving to CART might it be in addition to the Cheever sponsership?

If Eddie Cheever won't be running a team in CART, irrespective of where Red Bull goes.

It's almost hard to say if this is a good thing. Obviously we want strong teams and sponsors, but I don't think anyone really wants Cheever.

I want him, if he's bringing one or two cars.
