Channel Seven's up to its usual tricks
I see that the 24hr coverage is more of a 5 hr coverage. Just checked the television guides. Religious shows, home shopping and rugby replays seem to take precedence over the race.
Good to see that nothing's changed. |

There's no way a major commercial channel could justify a full coverage, but you'd think they could do more through the middle of the night. There's nothing between midnight and 5.00am that couldn't make way without upsetting those who normally sit in front of the box all night. I don't know what Guthy-Renker is, but I think that a profile on Lee Marvin could be moved aside.

Guthy-Rekner is one of those home shopping channels. Probably pay 7 for their air-time.

Nice start for Brocky, who obviously still has what it takes to compete at the forefront of Australian & international motorsport.

Hrmmm, 5 hours of headlights between 12-5am would probably wind up a tad tedious....

I see Ch 7 has tackin a page out of Ch10 book by trying to turn the try hard Murph into some sort of superstar and all within the first hour. Good to see NC getting some air time on his old employer.
Are Ch7 in love with the Monaro or not becuase that is the only car that they seem to mention. |

I'm more disappointed by the fact we'll only get to see the last half an hour tomorrow.
Do you think it would be worth heading up there at around 5am to catch the last 9 hours? I'm seriously considering it. |

Mate, at least he "races" and doesn't hide behind his team mate because his own jatz aren't big enough..... Go for it Murph.... And as for 7 favouring the Monaro. Where's Ford's effort? A couple of GT's getting smashed and did I see some old sh*tta EL Falcon running around? At least the general has a go, Ford are too busy fighting amongst themselves and stealing each others racing staff.... |

Well Mr HRT Moy it is just a case of which company is spending the most money Holden are spending a ***t load on PROCAR series
and looking at the CH7 telecast they are spending money on the telecast as well as circut signage,so as the old saying goes Money talks B******T walks, and FORD are not putting the money into PROCAR, which I think is a bloody disgrace. And YES Murph is a TRY HARD. |

Dave, so far the First GT is fourth in its class, with no legit holdens in front of it, as well both GT's (and that EL XR8 you talk about) are a mile ahead of the HSV VY GTS

I didn't think this was suppose to be a Holden v's Ford race Dave.
Isn't it suppose to be the great Australian Holden v's the world. I know that once those Monaros win it will convince me to run straight down to the nearest Holden dealer and pick one up. Oh sorry, thats right it isn't a production car. |

can you buy a stone bros v8 supercar at your local ford dealer? can you buy a jag like webber's f1 car at jag dealer? umm hello.. it's a race car! it was built to race. it wasn't built to pick the kids up from school. this "but it's not a production car" rubbish is get old as blaming hrt every time a ford doesn't win. |

And even the Pommy interviewer called the Monaro "purpose built"-and for Holden to promise to build them as road cars It will be excellent to see Brocky win a 10th -heres hoping. Last edited by Grimace; 22 Nov 2003 at 23:48. |

Although saying that, standing on the hill this morning at 3:30am was probably one of the more incredible experiences of my life... all racing should be done at night

Just turned on at 9.30 am local time (Perth), and well, surprise, surprise, the Monaros are nose to tail after all this time... well, whoda thought that these cars and drivers all had exactly the same performance capabilities as each other....
I have no problem philosophically with the monaros being there, i can accept that theyr'e purpose built to win races, and in that respect a top job. What does annoy me is the references the commentators and TV shows make about this great "Aussie domination", and the inference that these things in any way resemble what you as the punter can actually go out and buy. They should be prevented from making that link, and be madt to talk about these cars in the same way as the Moesler, as a purpose-built race car. Also funny to see "Holden Genuine Parts" sponsorship on the Monaros.... guess their input will be mostly cash, huh? |

Dave thought it ok to have a dig at Ford but at least as I said you could go out and buy their cars competing. As I said, I didn't think it was a Ford v's Holden race. Jeez you Holden lot are getting a bit touchy, what a stupid comparison. (webbers car at a Jag dealer) |

To all those who have been bagging Channel 10, did you also experience the delays in bringing the 12:30 am live 1 hour show whilst Channel 7 had the Roy and HG best off show followed by a higlights package of the match that had just absorbed 4 hours of Live time??????? Us regional viewers had to wait untill about 1:20 for the show to come on??? Thankfully i am a dedicated m/sport fan and waited up but I am sure that plenty of people set the VCR and missed out.And did you also note that the 10:30 update that went to air at about 11:00 was repeated 80% and sold as the 11:30 update, now that Morgan either blew up twice and the BMW stuck it in at McPhillamy twice or I am seeing things????Having it on on the same week end as the Rugby Final was "unfortunate" at best and some things can't be helped but it was great to go back in time and be treated with contempt and shuffled down the time slot like some sort of a fill in. Ah I can hear the Twilight zone music now.
