Archer should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
VIP Petfoods Main Event Qualifying Draw, PLEASE NO!

I urge and implore AVESCO to reconsider the ludicrous idea of the crowd deciding the qualifying draw for Round 13!

Although I disagree with the point system, worst round dropping etc, it has made quite a cliffhanger for the final race of the season, but to place the edge of your seat championship you have created under the guillotine is stupid!

Could you imagine thousands of fans voting under bias to have either Marcos, Mark or Greg out last, it becomes a popularity contest! Then there are the jokers who will vote Thexton to go out last or Tratt, and the three championship contenders out first on a cold track and end up starting mid-pack! It makes a mockery of the so-called international category TC is trying to build!

Please join me in a shout out (because they are reading) to AVESCO that the shootout should be drawn on championship position or practice times etc.

There are those of you that believe that the random draw should make for a good show. Let me ask you this, put yourself in a drivers shoes, qualifying means everything!

TC wake up mate! If the championship was decided three or four rounds ago it would nearly be laughable, but it's the closest champ. in years.

If they aren't going to have any other form of qualifying it should be based on championship standings

yeah have got to agree, this is stupid, we have a possiblity of basically killing one of the 3 drivers chances in the championship on the toss of a coin or however the crowd are going to pick the order. HEY THATS IT TC is going to run a 2up school to decide the order, get the police out there, TC will be arrested for running an illegal game and sanity may prevale in V8's again and qualifing can go back to normal or the shotout can at least run in championship order

Why not just not vote in the draw at all? Then what would they do

I don't like the idea of the full grid at all, but they could at least draw the running out of a hat. That would be as fair as it could get. If they want the crowd involved, run a competition so a fan could draw the number for each driver

As a fan-involvement idea, that's a good one, Wizzby..... but it doesn't stop the whole thing fom being an incredibly bad idea.

No, read the other related posts. I suggested something better than the current set up, but it's still a crappy idea all round

Sorry I know, thats why I edited.

Ive just put my suggestion forward in the "your say" part of v8supercar.com.au about round 13, I hope you all do the same if we are to stop this, well injustice from happening!

That's okay, sounds like you had a good night

I still say everyone going to the track should not participate in the draw, that'll totally stuff em!

Archer - It may not be the best idea but atleast it's something different for a change. The V8 Brutes use a chook lotto draw in every round so what makes this draw any different?

What Wizzby suggested is what is going to take place, drivers will be picked out from a hat as is stated on the V8 Supercar website in paragraphs 3 & 4 yet there is no mention of any crowd participation, it seems fair to me.

It was on Superstars today, and to be honest it was the first time I'd heard of it so maybe they've changed it?

They pull the numbers out of a hat for the order of the shootout, so really, it is the luck of the draw, but i'd prefer to see it run on reverse championship points, lowest points goes first.

I have to admit the "chook lotto" style qualifying is a dead set farce...

AVESCO are treating this multi million dollar series like a Sunday afternoon church fete....

Why change the qualifying rules?

It's worked just fine for several years, so why play games with such an important event?

Clearly Cochrane and the QLD boys don't seem to comprehend the impact that this decision may have on the outcome of the championship.

If it was to seriously disadvantage any of the finalists, it would be criminal....

I want Holden to win (and I'm sure the Ford boys think the same about the blue oval) on the track, not because of how some names are pulled out of a hat! ! !

They shouldn't have cannned the shoot out in NZ as they have set a precedence that allows the grid to be detirmined retrospectively. It isn't the first time rain has detirmined the start lineup and the amount of rain during a shoot out can vary, what's next?
Stuff up turn 1 in the shoot out and you flick a switch emptying the diff of oil, laying oil from the back straight at Sandown right down to Dandy Road and the thing gets cancelled allowing you to retain your original top 5 starting position?????????????????????????????????
