Crash - who pays?
As a hillclimb and sprint competitor, any of my mishaps are not likely to involve other cars.
The previous thread got me thinking. On a circuit what is the protocol for payment repairs, post collision. I mean, asuming no insurance cover, and due to misjudgment, you spin across a corner, slamming into another racers brand new £50K Formula X, forcing him into the barrier, bending his body/chassis etc. Is it assumed to be tough luck and everyone has to pays= for their own damage, regardless? |

the concept of third party claims is obsolete sadly!
you pay for your own damage regardless of who or how it happened! |

simon is right - answer is always start either from the front row or the last row as both give the best chance of not being involved in someone else's accident to the detriment of your wallet!

mind you door banging is optional! I like to think I race as closely as the next guy and touch wood I have never hit anyone else, mind you this season on two occassions I span in front of cars behind me and it was their quick reactions and my good fortune that stopped any contact!
that being said a wall at Spa this year did move into my car!!!!!!!!! |

Slightly cheaper to repair than Mackmot's - luckily the woman in my race managed to miss me! Cost of repairs:- Ally £20 Expanding foam £35 Rivets £5 Paint £35 Labour £free! (my own time) Attention in paddock after race £priceless!!! Have a look at the underside - it got a bit scraped while I was trying to catch the pack! http://server4.uploadit.org/files/29...pod bottom.jpg Last edited by Chris Y; 30 Nov 2003 at 22:56. |

NO no no Morris 1100 I am on dial up too. The host thing seems to sort all that out - link
scroll to the bottom of the page and click on 'browse' select your image from your folder and click on 'upload' once the image has uploaded you will taken to a page with a code in a box. Press 'select and copy' then go to your reply and paste it in where you want and surround the code with [ IMG]....[/IMG ] (don't put the spaces in - they're just so it doesn't try to find an image on my post here) and this should do the trick. But as I found out normal sized images are way too big - oops |

Red Dog, please don't put the IMG tags on future pics, they REALLY slow up the connections of some people.
Just post the link to the pics. |

Red Dog, I've edited your posts to replace the IMG tags with URL tags. If you're going to include a picture bigger than about 400x400, please link to it with URL, rather than IMG.

Mackmot's are 400x296. Right-click on the image (assuming you use a PC and Internet Exploder) and select properties - it tells you the size there. Try not to post too many (i.e. more than 3, for example) in a single thread |
