Bernie realises it's better box office if we have a new champion.

Michael Schumacher isn't good for the sport anymore so business-wise it't not suprising the boss responsible for this acted on this..

Prior to recent probs with the McLaren I thought the smart money would be on Kimi too but now I'm not so sure.

The McLaren ran reliably in testing today, so keep the faith.
Anyway - reading the full article Bernie praises Kimi, Michael, Juan Pablo, Fernando and Jenson. |

Bernie is very good at guessing the winner of races. I think he developed an extremely good strike rate when asked on Martin Brundle's grid walk. And he more often than not choses Michael.

The thing is, i honestly don't see anyone else capable of getting the job done at the moment. (given the machinery some of them have, and i don't see Rubens, Rafe or DC as likely to get the job done) Last edited by Mr V; 12 Feb 2004 at 00:37. |

"I would put my money on Kimi to be the champion," said Ecclestone. "There's Michael, who is always there – obviously. Montoya, probably if he sort of quietens down a little bit. Obviously he is going to be a contender and could also win the championship. http://www.autosport.com/newsitem.asp?id=26000&s=5 |

Actually Bernie said: "I'd like Schuey to win, but I reckon Kimi will".
Thus he's been very acrobatic: as we say in Italy: giving one blow to the hoop and one to the barrel. Just wonder what will JPM and FW think about it Last edited by climb; 12 Feb 2004 at 07:51. |

Well, this is Sir Frank's reaction:
"Leaving aside our drivers, I would say Michael [is the favourite] and maybe Alonso - the Renault is a very impressive car," Williams said. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/moto...ne/3480137.stm |

Kimi now has the backing of the big guy. Expect another nail-biter with a different outcome in 2004.
