Maybe it had a few problems and they are tyring (and might) sort it out?
I'm not sure about it's looks, but I reckon it'll go OK! Ron aparently is satisfied with the progress: http://www.autosport.com/newsitem.asp?s=5&id=26136 Quote:

If they are sand bagging then Kimi and DC deserve Oscars, they're damned convincing!

I dont think they are ready. Maclaren may be fast but they are not reliable. I expect them to be quick in qualifying but doubt they will make the end of the race, or they wont have the race pace.

Whatever, I don't think we should rule out the fact that they didn't get last year's development up and running throughout the whole season.
If this is a genuine problem that's getting on for 18 months worth of technical underperformance! |

They've put quite a few race distances on the car successfully, so far.
And it seems to be fast as well. So many people love to slag off McLaren - and it baffles me. Ferrari and Williams have had reliability glitches this off-season too and you don't hear people taking so much joy in this. |

When was it that McLaren were really strong in winter testing and didn't perform very well in the championship? It was 2001 or 2002 I think - F1 Racing did a feature about them being winter champions and it all came to nothing so it just shows we will only find out for real next week!!

Mclaren sandbagging is as much an off season Formula One tradition as Ferrai breaking lap records!
