New components / parts for Sepang?
Does anyone know if any team is bringing any new car parts to Sepang?

Toyota will have the most parts, but all the teams should be bringing small modifications with them, both for car improvement and to acclimatise to the heat.

I'm sure there will be a few tweaks, but nothing major until we get back to Europe.
Toyota is planning changes for it's car for Imola, including weight distribution, it need's to be much lower in the car according to Mike Gascoyne. The two flyaway races are always a tough start to the season and favours cars that are quick out of the box. Last year, Patrick Head remarked that part of Williams problem was not sufficently understanding the car early enough in the season, once they unlocked the key to it, they found front running pace fairly quickly. I'm sure plenty of teams will be hoping they can do the same this year.... |

If you are referring to inovations, I doubt that Ferrari will add onto what they have in any big ways. Certainly, they will not change to something with questionable reliability because their primary objective is to have both cars finish, with a secondary of both cars in the points. Neither of them will be met if things break.

It is actually quite difficult for teams to really introduce many new things in all these flyaway races, because they have little time to test and evaluate, then produce the new parts and have them sent over to the next venue in short period of time.
Maybe a couple of teams will run new aero parts, or simple upgrade to engines/chassis but i doubt anybody would have a major change that will suddenly improve their performance significantly. |
