F3 circuit hospitality
Can someone tell me what happened to the usual circuit hospitality? The drivers, photographers and press ,getting the tea, coffee, orange juice and biscuits for free! I enquired about the price of lunch. Are they having a joke!

I was going to post about this as well: outrageous, basically.
£40 per person, per day for a buffet of limp lettuce and cold pasta? No wonder SRO had a Bentley parked up next to the awning. That and the frosty, uppity woman who was guarding the tables and 'removing' people who hadn't booked or paid in advance. If SRO were also responsible for the guest pass only situation at the main grandstand then they've got a long way to go in understanding British motorsport and how to make it a) fan-friendly and b) media-friendly. Chucking out the drivers' guests (and usually they're the ones who in one way or another are funding F3 in the first place) from the hospitality and forcing people to stand in a blizzard to watch the race is NOT an improvement on last year, which I thought they had pretty much spot on. Rumour has it last year's caterer is coming along to Silverstone as well. We'll see which tent is busier. |

Lets all meet in 'last years catering' tent and have a protest outside 'this years catering' tent.

Wasn't it a great event to bring potential sponsors to... They could certainly see the benefits of getting involved in F3, eh? We had some people with us - it's embarrassing to be having to apologise for the show as you walk around. British F3 does not look like a sponsor-friendly championship right now. In FRenault, the Renault tent was always a welcoming place, and the TOCA tour a good one.

The new person who has taken over the catering thinks he is Bernie Ecclestone.

for once, i think they should take their lessons from renault regarding hospitality. yes, i'm sure they'll lose money but hey, if you keep the people happy... |

I don't see how they'll make moey this new way - the awning looked pretty empty the whole weekend.

i was at my first F3 meeting this weekend and was disgusted by the the service potentially offered to people by SRO, i am not sure what the arrangement is could someone please explain.
Use FPA as your bench mark. It does not need to be expensive, when you consider how much money some people are throwing away in this series it is criminal. mark_I - you are closer than you could possibly imagine - un-wittingly though i would believe. |

I take it we are all happy with SRO then? ....HA! Well being present at the weekend i found out that clivo piccione's mum started a protest and went around most of the teams to sign their names in disaprovel of the new Serious Rip Off of a company!
SRO were charging 40 pounds for a lunch and 80 pounds to book in advance! What do you think we are billionaires!! The f3 guys are struggling for the racing budget never mind for getting a bit of food! I do know that gary will be back at sliverstone as Gerameny Lloyd also disaproved. Gary was alot better priced at 7.50 for a whole day. There has also been problems with passes, they haven't been able to sort themselves out with the passes, they only gave the amount needed for the team and 4 to the drivers. Finally Donington has managed to get its self a proper podium, not just a truck. But the champagene was poor, a cheap bottle from tesco with a sticker over the top of the label with the sponsership of SRO, autosport and F3 GT on it with a bit of sallotape, in 2002 they got give a big bottle of MUMM! Anyways Sliverstone next lets seen what improves! |

The moral of the story is: never turn up at a race meeting without your sandwiches.

If Piccione is paying £400k for an F3 drive I am sure his mum could afford a bit of lunch!!!
Joking apart, don't the teams have hospitality in the awnings? A number of GT teams had motorhomes with hospitality in?? |

Well someone i know spoke to his mum and she said that shes not happy and shes not willing to pay that much and she wanted gary back!
Yes some teams do have hospitality units which suppiled them with sandwichs and nibbles. The moral of the story is wear your whole wardrobe and be prepared for expensive junk food all day or bring sandwichs and don't expect it to be as glamourous as F1! |

my own grub (back to the 80's)If i dont need to consume it it will be available for a discounted rate of £35 |
