Announcing the 2004 F3000 Two Worlds Prediction Competition!
Welcome to the F3000 Two Worlds Prediction Competition!
Due to the success of many of fantasy and prediction competitions in the forums, I present here the one in that you can predict the results of the 2004 Formula 3000 Races, and put then behind this message. This is my first experience as a ruler of a prediction competition, and I hope it will be for fun for all us. The name of the Competition, Two Worlds is cos it will be disputed in two forums simultaneously: in Ten-Tenths.com (the forum that you read an that is the main forum of F3000.com) and the Spanish-speaking forum Corsadigital.com. Two forums that are like two different "worlds" (due to their different composition, criteria, etc.) and this competition is made, at some fact, to evaluate the F3000 knowledge of the users of both forums. Rules: Each Wednesday, one week before the race, the new results prediction topic will be posted. Since this time, all users of the forums involved in this competition can post their predictions. The deadline for posting predictions will be set at 4:00 AM GMT of the day of the qualifying for the race; usually it'll be at Fridays, except for the Monaco GP in what will be on Thursday. The concursants not represents only themselves, but also the forum where they post their predictions. For identify reasons, in the results and stats Ten-Tenths users will be marked in BLUE, and Corsadigital users will be marked in RED. In case of the forum users that post the predictions at both of these forums (like Mekola) they must decide what forum will they represent. In my case, I'll be marked as a Corsadigital forum user. The system to get points in this Competition is similar to the F1 Prediction Competition of Ten-Tenths: 2 Points will be awarded for each driver in the correctly predicted place and 1 point shall be awarded for a chosen driver in the top eight in a position other than that predicted. 1 Point shall be awarded for predict the correct poleman. You must all make sure to post your predictions in such a manner that I understand who you are picking for which position. If I have any doubt whatsoever, your prediction could be partially or totally annulled. Above all though, this is a fun competition, so I will do my best to contact you prior to the deadline if I am in doubt over who you have selected, and you will then be given the opportunity to clarify your predictions before the deadline. After posting your entry, you also have one opportunity to revise your choices. Please make it clear in any additional post on the thread that you are revising your choices. The scores from the predictions of the final standings will be added to the scores from each round, giving us two forum winners and the general winner (the forum winner with more points scored) of the F3000 Two Worlds Predictions Competition. The method to define the forum and general winners are this: If two or more users are tied on points, the winner will be the one with the best predictions for the final standings. If that results in a tie, the winner will be the one with the highest number of points in one single round. In addition will be an inteforum championship of major percentage of effectivity, in that the winner will be the forum with higher average score (nearer to 16.909 points). For this first round I suggest the concursants to bring, in addition for their predictions for Imola, the prediction of the final result of the F3000 Drivers Championship of this year (more precisely, the list of the first eight drivers of this championship). The point system of it is the same of those awarded for the first eight drivers arrived in the race (2 Points for each driver in the correctly predicted place and 1 point sfor a chosen driver in the top eight in a position other than that predicted). If you at any point during the competition should be unable to post your predictions in the predictions thread due to technical problems, you can send it via e-mail to: mekola@uolsinectis.com.ar. If you are going to be absent, and thus not be able to post your predictions during the week in which the predictions thread will be open, you can post your predictions in advance, either in the previous predictions thread, or you can send your predictions to me by PM or email. The game has started! Post your predictions below... Last edited by Mekola; 14 Apr 2004 at 03:36. |

Sounds like a lot of fun. There is just one thing I'm not sure of Mekola, you want us to post our 8 choices for round #1 right now (or before 4:00 AM GMT of the day of the qualifying for the race) I mean, plus also our predictions of the final result of the F3000 Drivers Championship of this year.
Will this also be part of the competition or is it just for fun? |

This is a part of the competition Dany. The prediction of the final results will be added to the score after all rounds to determinate the winner, as is in the F1 Pred Comp.

Because the 10-Tenths forums doesn't allow the use of different font colors, in the results and stats posted at this forum Ten-Tenths users will be marked in Bold-Italic, and Corsadigital users will be marked only in Italic. For the other forum the identify rules won´t change. Last edited by Mekola; 16 Apr 2004 at 01:34. |

Dany, some users and the moderators of the other forum are interested in the competitions, despite I didn't received any predictions there for the moment, because they didn't know much about F3000 or are waiting if Esteban Guerrieri will race with BCN team or not.
About the rules, I will do my best to not make any other changes to the Prediction competition rules. I remember the concursants that you have the opportunity to post the predictions of the final results of the F3000 Driver championship only for this round. Regards from Mekola.
