Shag should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Ernie Sprague

Ernie Sprague died in his sleep Thursday 13th May.
"If Barry Crump had ever written a book on NZ motor racing in the 50's, Ernie Sprague would have been the main character. He charachterised the period, the people and the cars. A hard case, certainly, but a racer and a winner" - Eoin Young.

What a huge, huge lost of a true enigma of New Zealand motorsport.

I had not heard of this at all, and wish to pass condolences to all those - family and friends - who knew a true motorsport character!

Race In Paradise, Ernie!
