It seems as if Italian tyre manufacturer Pirelli will pull out of supllying tyres to sports car teams for next year.
while there is a "no comment" situation buzzing around Pirelli at present it is rumored contracted teams have been told to expect an immediate pull out..the final decision should be made in a few weeks. it is expected that most teams in the FIA series will run on goodyear rubber next year. one reason for this may be the uncompetitiveness of the DAMS and cadillac teams in the ALMS for which the tyre manufacturer recieved some of the blame for lack of performance but they did manage to win the Sports racing world cup with the JMB Giesse Ferrari team so one wonders why they might be pulling out ???? |
