Clarifcation for GTS/GT Carbon fibre chasis cars please!
Just wondering, are carbon fibred chasis cars allowed in GTS/GT NGT/GT yet in LMES/FIA GT/ALMS? I coudnt help but wonder, is the Maserati MCC 12 a carbon fibre chasis? Or is it still steel?

Carbon chassis have been allowed in ACO (LMES/LM/ALMS) for a couple of years now. The Zonda was the first to race.
The ACO class them as 'supercars' and they are subject to slightly different, more restrictive, regs (similar to GT/N-GT) than a regular GTS car like a 575GTC. The Maserati is indeed a Carbon chassied car. |

Thanks Jag, I thought that was the case. One last thing though, in FIA GT and LM/LMES/ALMS GTS and GT class cars can all run carbon brakes, correct? Im not 100% sure on this.

ALMS (and therefor LM) do I believe, at least for GTS, as I was reading an article on dailysportscar.com, and there were interviewing Dale Earnhardt Jr, and he was talking about how stunning the carbon brakes on the Corvette are.
Hope it helps |

I'll echo that, I'm reasonably confident in saying that the ACO permits the use of carbon breaks. The above mentioned article is also on the ALMS site, and Little E. talks about carbon breaks, and I've heard it mentioned in other articles as well.

Thanks guys. Cadete, I wasnt too sure about the Supercar class in FIA GT, GT allowing the cars to use carbon brake pads if it was on the road car, thats all.
