I've refined my style and will be doing 24 images in this style based upon the Bathurst 24hr. Images are 100% compgen. I like B/W at the moment...

I agree with Martin. I think the background looks great but the car looks a bit static.
It also looks as if the background was done first and then the car was added in afterwards - the angle of the car doesn't look quite right somehow. |

Pplater, I like your work. A suggestion, mask off your car and slightly knock the background out of focus. This will make the image look more like a photo. Most action shots are taken at the widest fstop and this makes a narrow depth of field. It focuses the eye on the subject and softens up the background and foreground and eliminates distracting parts of the image. It also gives the impression that the car is in motion.

I preferred the first one - you don't want all this off-focus/colour/motion-blurring if it's art.
Otherwise you may as well take a photo. |

But you better not tell the artist that.

But art? It's what you make of it, I suppose - a subjective celebration of someone else's personality and imagination - their take on the world as they see it. But if you're doing a picture like the original, you want to make it look like art, not like something anyone could do with a decent camera... The problem with art is that it's so subjective and divisive it's hard to get into everything. |

Could it be the ultimate in craftsmanship..... The antique piece of furniture.. the use of brush and paint, the stroke of the brush, the use of colour, the interpretation, the vision... the idea?....the title Art is easy to use but very difficult to analyse.
Is it the intenton, on purpose or by mistake? |
