Murph at WA
for all those Kiwi's out there Murph will be using his last years Bathurst and Puke winning VY as he is not happy with the unit.

Turn it up!! A round win then? Or is Barbagallo too short and windy to maximise it's potential?

As we only have 2 VXs left in the series eg Longhurst and Tasman, it would be good too see where a HRT/Kmart/PWR prepared VX would be in the field in this years series

Its not a VX though, but a butcherised VX with a VX motor in it still.
There are still only a few genuine VYs built as VY's with Auroras in their tummies!!!!!! |

Its the one Kelly wrecked at HV isn't it GTR?
Whats the spec of the one he has been running this year? do you know if it has a full VY front chassis/cage like HRT are running? |

Kieron, it can't be a full spec VY, cause the regs say that once you go to the full spec, you can't go back.
Just wish all the Holden teams were using the new donk so they had a level playing field within themselves. We'll see where not so shows up when he's not in a Hybrid!!!! |

The car may handle better but without the trick lightweight engine that was in it at bathurst the speeds wont go up much.

Lowndesfan. There are 4 possible VY combos I can think of -
1. Converted VX with essentially bolt in wishbone front/Chev Murfs Bathurst winning car 2. Converted VX with essentially bolt in wishbone front/Aurora Not sure anyone has done this, but under the rules would be considered full VY spec 3. Full VY spec front end, rollcage/stiffening in front end built specifically for wishbones/Chev Skaife was running this combo in the latter half of '03. 4. Full VY spec front end, rollcage/stiffening in front end built specifically for wishbones/Aurora Kelly running this in latter half of 03, both HRT cars now this spec. If Murf has been running #3 spec this year, he can go back to #1 spec. He is certainly running a Chev engine. I'm guessing Bright is also running #3 spec? The only time you can't move back is Aurora > Chev, unless its due to unobtainable parts and then at TEGA disgression? |
