Shall we have a poll to see who we think will take his place?

He's probably had his day now, and I hope whoever takes over will add some new ideas and impetus. I hope it's not Jean Todt though, there's already enough Ferrari bias.

IMHO he's pi**ed off with the lot of them due to both FOM's and F1 teams lathargic (sp?) stances on change.
I reckon he's been banging his head against a brick wall for sometime and has finally decided to wave two fingers.....I certainly would. Good on you Max, for a job well done over the years. Lets hope the newbie will be as good, if not better. Last edited by ActiveMS; 1 Jul 2004 at 11:48. |

Max has done a good job - and he's done it for twelve years.
I think he's just decided it is time to move on, rather than there being anything more sinister. |

Do you think the replacement would have had anything, or much to do with F1 previously? As of course, the FIA does more then just F1.
If an F1 personality would be a good replacement, what do you folks think about Jackie Stewart? |

They way this is being described elsewhere, the FIA presidents role is going to focus more on the political side of motoring and dealing with road-car safety.
The suggestion is a new vice-president would look after motorsport. |

Unlikely people to be in charge of FIA: Stoddart, Ballestre, Prince Rainier, Takuma Sato, Ecclestone, Erja Hakkinen, Mosley himself, Jacques Villeneuve , Patrick Head, spanish tv commentators, Wrex, Willy Webber, Stirling Moss, Sid Watkins, ...
Ok, after we have eliminated who cannot be FIA president we reach the coclusion: Briatore will the the boss =:-o |

Given that I'd already arranged to take over the job I don't understand why we are speculating.
At least Max's decision to stand down means I don't have to stage my coup after all... |

Sir Jackie Stewart, he's about as safety orientated as one can possibly be...
From that point of view, Jacky Ickx would do nicely too! Last edited by ASCII Man; 1 Jul 2004 at 13:53. |
