I, for one, would love to see BMW drop in a V8 and go racing. Not to mention, that 5.0 liter V8 out of the M5 would do wonders for putting the M3 ahead of the Porsche's in the ALMS and LeMans.

Rumors abound that BMW is already working on their 4.0 liter V8 powerplant. With their ties to Williams GP, and their history of success producing Renault Laguna BTCC challengers, I think a collaboration is surely in the works. Surely BMW will not allow Mercedes, Audi, and Opel to race in a class of cars that they are famous for owning the market in.
