Seats at Knockhill!
I can't believe Gordon SHEDDEN is not on pole, but well done Oli W. for pole in race 2! However I would like to see Gordon win on home ground.

Oli has two front row slots (2nd for the 1st race) but has also done fewer laps than the rest to save his tyres - actually came in EARLY in the second qualifying as he was confident he'd done enough.

Badly Craig - down in power in qualifying so qaulified 9th and 11th. Found out it was a problem with the turbo.
First race he had a spinning Stevens in front of him which relegated him to last but he managaed to get up to 7th Second race he did better - from 11th to 5th. Need Pickford to DNF both races at Donington to make it more interesting. |

My calculator now has the championship as follows:
1. Pickford 0n 136 2. Boardman on 116 3. Wilinson on 114 4 Smith on 100 and 5 Shedden on 97. With just two rounds to go it is a 3 horse race with James a firm favourite - Tom or Oli need to win both races at Donnington with James suffering a serious disaster in one of the races while James just needs to stay in the top 4 for both races to wrap it up. It ain't over yet but my is it going to be tough for anyone to dislodge James - roll on Donnngton. |

Maybe - but a bit tough on 2nd if the championship is won by a very narrow margin as it could be. Take the case of Oli Wilkinson - he had a down on power engine at Outlon Park and could only manage 2 x 7th place finishes, gaining just 11 points; normally he would be expected to be a podium finisher, so if he had not had that problem, he could reasonably have expected to score at least 2 x 3rd place finishes, which would have given him 35 points, or 24 more than he got. Now look at the championship and you'll see that with those 24 points he'd have been equal 1st with Pickford going into the final two rounds - and if he'd scored higher - lets just say a 2nd in the second race, he'd be leading by 2 points....
so it is not an easy call. |

Correction - those 24 point would have seen Oli leading at this point by 2 points - a 2nd would have seen that lead margin increase to 4pts.
