Do you remember "Trebron"?
Have you ever read about a Canadian team who whished to enter in F.1
in 1991, with a (supposed) revolutionary project, called Trebron? I recall it was headed by a certain Norbert Hamy or something like this. I saw also some photos of the scale model of their car, which was beige coloured, it has a double little roll-bar behind the driver's head and it was reported to have a revolutionary cooling-radiators system, with strange shaped side-pods. Anyone who remember this? |

Would this be what you're thinking of?
http://8w.forix.com/6thgear/trebron.jpg There's a brief note about the project (apparently a Japanese project, headed by Canadian engineer Norbert Hamy) on this link, although you'll need to scroll a long way down the page, to the news items from 18th May 92 http://www.teamdan.com/archive/1992/may92.html |

Oh, great! Thank you: it's exactly the photo I saw ... yes back in 1992!
Right. I wonder where all this disappeared... it's curious sometimes some projects are in an advanced stage of developement and all ends up before to run anything... (I remember the model of an Ags F1 along the same years; the car looked very similar to the 1995 (!) Jordan: it has the side pods with the single air intake around the front part of the chassis... never built and never raced...) Thanks a lot! G G. |

I always thought it looked like a grown-up version of a late-70s Chevron.
I remember a few other bits about Trebron. They were eventually going to do their own engine, to go with the weird cooling system. But they were going to start off with a Judd.... Mr Hamy is a man not known for his modesty, he claims to have invented all kinds of things. |

Same kind of thing maybe like the W12 motor of Guy Negre, it never happened.

I've got an article on that in an old Autosport.
I'm not convinced it will come to fruition, you know! |
