Well done indeed.
Proves the concept of FBMW is spot on when you can win it in this way. |

Absolutley, you don't need to be with a top team, or any team, to win

Imo it'll be harder to do it next year now that teams and drivers have a year under their belt.

Well done Tim.
I would love to know how much he spent on the season compared to the big money teams . |

Going rate for a BMW team is about £120 - £150k. Carlin are 200k I believe. An inflated figure whether its true or not.
I reckon you could do it for £80k. I reckon tyres would be 20k for the season, 11k for registration, 5k for damage, 10k for insurance, 5k for transport, 12k for car depreciation (buying a new car), fuel, brakes and consumables 8k, truck depreciation, maintenence, contingency, 5k and there you go, thats an easy £76,000. Of course, you could be lucky and not damage anything, on the other hand....... |

You have to pay 11k for them to design the painjob of your car, your suit, and limit where and when you can race?

Thats fairly close kartingdad, without employing anyone it would be about 93k
Your 5k is basically the cost of a spare front and rear wing assembly, I would add a bit more for transport. You would have to buy the car which is between 38 and 42k depending on the exchange rate and 5 sets of wheels. Add a gear box rebuild (just to make sure). Its 12500 for registration. You over estimated tyres. Plus you didnt add in a workshop, rates, phone, electric maintainence. Then really you should do as much testing as you can before the testing ban after January so I would add about another 10-15k. |

You could risk it if it's your own car... Though a big shunt = end of season...
