Triple J Motorsport should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
What is the best non converted Zetec FF1600?

Van Diemen RF90/91

Raynard 88 onwards

Swift SC93

Late Ray say 98

What's everyone think?

Taking into account availability and cost of parts

The Swift SC94/95. Surly one of the last and best chassis to be designed without compromise for the Zetec lump (apart from the new breed from Ray, Spirit, ect) Still have the support of Swift making parts, plus they look fantastic. Having driven the SC93, I would say the later model is far superior. Shame we sold ours really.

SC94 although spares can be a bit of a 'mare. Very slightly lighter and stiffer than the almost as good SC95.
Reynard in the wet?
RF90 etc. for skilled drivers too...

Reynard in the wet is a good choice.
At Castle Combe this year Nick Lay put an 89 Reynard on pole.
Only about the third time a pre-90 car has made pole at Combe.

apart from Adrian Cotteril, Matt Rivett and Nick Jones....I don't think thats a fair assement of the car

This has been done a few times in the wet at combe.

mattray has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I had pole in the dry on a 12.2 in the 89!! I dont think we had a wet qualifying that year!

What about a 88 Raynard ? Quick enough in the dry??

Is there a pre 90 class?

They are obviously good in the wet!!

It has apparently been completely rebuilt with new joints, floor and body last year, chassis crack tested re powder coated etc etc

John Loebell obviously thinks so. He has bought his 88 back from Lee Hannam
Yes Pre90 is one of the FF1600 classes.

Can you still buy new Hewland MK9 gear ratios ?

What are the current UK FF1600 tyres? Avon ACB10? This is on the side wall?

Cheers

John

For sale again now. About eight grand would get it, IIRC.
