Xaus and Elias for Tech 3 - semi-official

According to BBC Ceefax it looks like Tech 3 Yamaha will have an all-Spanish line-up next year. They seem to have chosen wisely, as Elias has improved a lot in the last ocuple of years, and Xaus looks well-suited to MotoGP. Overall their 4-rider lineup looks better than 2004's.

Oh the differing fortunes of the 2003 D'Antin team-mates.....excellent news for Xaus, Melandri will be expected to have the upper hand, but should Xaus start getting the better of him he'll get way more credit than when he was beating Hodgson.

Sounds like a good line up to me also, where did Elias finish in 250cc points standings, 4th? Shame they coudnt get Pedrosa but still Elias is a good rider. As for Xaus beating Melandri I woudnt be suprised at all to see that scenario happening. In fact id say that Xaus should be going into 2005 as the #1 rider in the team, he did after all finish ahead of Melandri in the overall points standings on what is a inferior bike.

Ofcourse they can't get Pedrosa...
He's being prepped up for the best honda ride available in 2006!

Well, Pedrosa has only 1 season in 250 while Elias has 3 so it's logical to step up now. He was in Pedrosa's shadow this year, but beating team-mate Rolfo big time.

There's no way Honda would let Pedrosa go - they probably see him as one of their future stars. Elias could do very well for Yamaha, but probably isn't Dani's equal in terms of potential. It is a good line-up though.

Good, solid line-up for Yamaha in 2004. Their trump card is Rossi, but Edwards is a consistent rider, Xaus is undoubtedly very quick (and seems to be overcoming his wild ways) while Elias proved to be very quick in 250s.

Agreed, Yamaha have a very solid line up for 2005 and Xaus has finally got what he wanted, a ride oin Spanish spnsored bike thet will let him test and have a chance of competing with the likes of Sete.
Team should go well as both riders are from Spain, only trouble is team is French isn't it!

Biggest pile of tosh I've ever typed, of course I knew Melandri was on a Telefonica Honda next year......
