Stowe

Big thanks to all the marshals at Stowe yesterday (there were hundreds of you!) - can't have been fun out in the rain in the afternoon - I came in from the final Caterham race nearly hypothermic! At least you got to keep warm with all the yellow flag twirling in the school races!

Not quite hundreds I think it was about 40 but well manned for the Stowe circuit. A big thanks to BARC SE fot the soup and food, good raffle as normal (must say that as I won the Lotus Elise experiance at the school).

A very cold wet day, nice to be appreciated by the drivers.

Graeme, believe me my hands were freezing trying to do a lap chart.

But I kept fairly warm walking to the grid with my yellow flag and back to the flag post again. Also walking along and giving you all the information about the wonderful track conditions!!!!

The only problem I really had was when one of the school cars hit the pit wall hard. Not thinking, I went into automatic mode and went to go and sort out the driver, then remembered I had the Chief Startline radio and had to go back and make sure the red flag was put out on the startline before going back and checking on the driver.

Alan and I also kept warm pushing Haggispeed off the grid, before he managed to get doing. Plus pushing one of the other cars off the grid with the help of one of the Clerks.

All in all a fairly eventful day. Anyway, despite the conditions I think everyone enjoyed it.

I would also like to take this opportunity of thanking Silverstone Racing School for providing lunch for everyone and the donation of the 1 hour drive in the Lotus Elise.

haggispeed has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Absolutely fantastic job as always guys and gals, infact we appreciate you so much I decided to spend most of my second race chatting with all the guys on post one....
Enjoy the Lotus experience Alan - might I reccommend not doing it in the wet

Does the sun ever shine on the Stowe Circuit?
Even with the rain the fellowship and atmosphere was great both on post and during lunch and raffle.
The racing didnt interfere to much with our enjoyment but we did appreciate the friendly toot of the Caterham Drivers.
Finally to those tucked up in the warm and dry, you dont know what your missing.
Thank you to all the organisers both at this meeting and to those through the year.
I hope to see you all in 2005.
Happy Christmas.
