A Triumph for Diz

This is very disappointing... I have absolutely nothing to criticise... Diz ran a superb meeting yesterday at Anglesey. The marshalls and all officials did their jobs perfectly and from where I was looking the drivers were all pretty well behaved. Richard Sprostons commentary was relatvely insult free and he finished the day without the aid of RAF Valley.
My personal thanks must go to Dave Franklin for the loan of front tyres and Dave Hart for 'technical tips'. Singe supplied some very tastless jokes.
Oh! and I won a shiny spark plug donated by Chris Hodgen.

Yes, excellent meeting. I'm sure there will be some refinements and hopefully some more cars in 2005!

'A race meeting at Anglesey in December? He must be crazy!' I never said that......honest!

What a great day that was; incredible weather, superb racing & lots of cake!

Thanks Diz. Thanks for all the hard work you put into this to make it work, it certainly did. It was nice to put names to faces yesterday too!

Excellent day Diz even if Bluebeard tried to sabotage it with his pork pie, however, it was a Tesco one not a Ginster one.

You even ordered decent weather so please can you do the same for the summer.

Jan you made more sense when you were working with Diz than you did after the BBQ in the summer!!! Although I did start to think when you put up a race sheet upside down!!! Did you and Dizzy Rascal have a couple of calmers in the office!!

Well done you olde bugger!!!

You got a bit stressed, but I dare say all these comments made it worth it.

The racing was very good and the Gods shined on you with the weather.

Well done fella!

Redracer77, thanks for reminding me - not. Seriously I did enjoy myself and promised to help Diz out again should the need arise. I had got the hang of it by the time we had finished, despite, yes you were right trying to put the race sheet upside down, but hey I did realize it. [QUOTE]A couple of calmers?, ha I had those on the way down I had an idea it would be mad in there. Lets hope we get the opportunity to do it again.

As someone who's been introduced to FF1600 through this forum and follows it from a distance, it's always great to read of those involved having such enjoyment.

I really must get to a race in 2005.

Maybe when I'm rich someone will let me drive one......

Diz

Better late than never, I hope, but I've just got back from Anglesey after numerous traumas including a broken spring on the van.
A grand meeting, it showed what can be done without paying stupid sums in entry fees, though we had a few dramas, like my lad had his gear lever come adrift at the start of the 2nd race, steered with one hand and changed gear, eventually, by pulling and pushing the cable with the other. Still got past Steve Clegg in his F3 though. Pity we didn't make the 3rd race.
Obviously lots of hard work on your part and well worth the trip for us, thanks & hope it happens again.

Mike
