Neil Adams should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
why not revert to old qualifying?

to put it simply they've completley ******ed it up, the changes to qualifying where supposed to shake up the grid but thats not happening,

why dont they just revert to the old style where it all builds to the last few minutes of the session with lots of cars on track at once? thats far more exciting with lo-fuel cars doing their best possible laps, the result would probably be the same, but would be much more interesting for the fans

With the 1 engine rule people would do hardly any laps.

The 2003 qualifying would be the best solution.

it would be far to sensible to admit you're wrong and change back to an old format

Yeh,but this is F1 where nothing is ever simple.......and that's part of why we love it

OK .........

One hour quali system on Saturday.
Each car goes out once every 20 mins in whatever order they want.(If they don't go out once every 20mins they get penalised in some way).
Average fastest of the three laps gets pole etc etc.

Same for every team regarding the new engine and tyre rules.

Sponsors/TV are happier with this than the old one hour free for all, rush at the end quali system, more or less continuous track action, drivers get three goes at it.......

What's the problem

Such a system would be overly complex.

Average times etc.

The single fastest lap should be on pole.

And you should only have one go at it.

Qualifying should be as it was before 2003. Unfortunately, certain engine rules thought of by a total fruitcake, go against this possibility.

So right now I'd settle for a 2003 system, and I reckon we could have that. It's 50/50 in my book though...

To a casual fan, I think it would be.

If I do the fastest lap of qualifying, but have problems on the other runs, why shouldn't I be on pole?

We'll still disagree about the first part

As to the second........if i have the fastest car but have problems in the race why shouldn't i win the race ??

I honestly think it is more entertaining watching the cars doing three runs in a hour rather than one.

Qualifying is not about entertainment - it's about setting the grid for the race.

The race is what should be entertaining.

That's what they're all there for - to race.
