Silverstone - March 19 - BRDC MC

Well, this will be my first event of the season (first of many!). I hope it is going to be a relatively easy start, with just the website to worry about and two eager new helpers to assist me.

It should be a good meeting, with two helpings of FF1600, Minis, BRDC Historic Sportscars, BRDC Single Seaters and more.

Is anyone else planning to come along to enjoy the unique atmosphere of a Silverstone clubbie in March?

I'll be there as long as work allows - I'm holiday cover that week.

Slightly off topic, does anybody know if Silverstone will be doing season tickets this year? There's no information about them on their website.

yes but only through joining the Silverstone racing club. God knows why they have done that

details can be sent if you ring Janet (Silverstone racing club secretary) on 08704588211.

Its a good idea...if you join the racing club you can use the facilities that they have, including a stand and their club house.

Excellent stuff.

Meanwhile, a call for drivers - entries are still open for all of the races. The details are on www.brdc.co.uk.

There are races for:

FF1600 (Golden Helmet and Star of the Midlands)
FF1800
BRDC Historic Sports Cars
BRDC Single Seaters
Minis
Allcomers Sports/Saloons
Sixties Sports/GT

Silverstone

The Mini 7's & Mini Miglia's will be there. Not sure how many will go as
it is a non-championship race. Could be a good shake down test.

well its club access only...less queues at the bar!!! NOTE this is the silverstone racing club clubhouse...not the BRDC one!!

Sorry I think its a great idea, and although I get a pass through marshalling I will still be joining.

Golden Helmet I presume? Very strong I believe. Are you doing SoM as well? (You probably also need to look in the Club Level Single Seaters forum!)

I will be there in the race what ya brung race in my merlyn as a shake down before Julius' Cloth Cap race at Castle Combe Easter Monday. Sadly Barry Sideways didnt want 60's sportsracers in his 60's GT and Sportscar race.. which is a greta shame as HSCC and Julius do, but there you go

Yep, was a lovely day once the fog had disappeared, was quite amusing watching the marshalls try and see each others flags in the soup, in the early morning...
