Marcos not the only one.
I have heard that Marcos Ambrose will not be the only current V8 Supercar driver to head stateside to further his career. Apparently Paul Weel is also looking to go over and try out there as well.

Well, with his results here, he'll have no trouble.
Good luck Paul. |

I don't think Paul Weel has done that badly in V8 Supercars, and i feel he will improve further.

As I have said with Marcos - good luck to anyone who wants to pursue their career further overseas.

I'm all in favour of as many SORFs going to the US as want to, and vacating seats in the V8 Supercar Series for others to have a go!

Have a gander at some of these figures from their season so far. Boris Said, one race, no places, earnings $249000 Martin Truex Jnr, one race, no placings, earnings $252000 Kurt Busch, two races, two top 5 placings, earnings $1.36m! Here's another. A bloke named Mike Skinner who has had 231 starts in NASCAR, whose average finish is 23rd, has career earnings of over $12m!!!!!!!! In 2004, he ranked 40th for the season and still pulled $1.9m for his work. If Ford can help Marcos jam his foot in the NASCAR door, good luck to him!!! edited. Left out a couple of zeroes... He also said the car from Saturday was more damaged than first thought but it should be back from Dencar today and will be ready for the Clipsal. |

Said is a resonable circuit racer and butdoes not do much Oval track racing. Truex is a good young prospect and will be a future champ.(Nextel Cup) Skinner is the lesser of those 2 by a long way. |

True that the guys here in NASCAR, even in trucks and busch, make a lot of money, but they also race almost every weekend and travel a lot more. No leisurely one or two race weekends a month like in V8 supercars. Quite a lifestyle adjustment I'd say.
