Taurus Motorsport development program

I've just had a call from Simon Dawson of Taurus Motorsport outlining a new program they are getting underway, to allow racing people to attend their test days and for those with development ideas or the like to submit proposals to have their work tested and tried. I am not very clear on this yet but Simon will be sending me more information when it is ready (soon, he thought).

There would be three events in Europe and they hope to schedule three in America. They're wondering if people at Ten-Tenths who have been very interested in the progress of their program or of the diesel program in general, would be interested in a program like this and would attend it.

What do you think?

Hello Liz,

Interresting, definitely... what do they mean by "program" ? Do they intent to further develop what they started last year ? And for the three european spots/events, which ones should it be ? LMES races ?

Sounds interesting.

Is this just open those who have something technical to offer or fans in general?

I believe it will be open to anyone who wants to attend -- there may be a small admission charge. He thought they'd have something ready by the end of the week, and I'll be sure to pass along anything further that he tells me. He specially mentioned 10-Tenths in wanting to get the word out, as he reads this forum and detected interest here, and I've had a few inquiries by e-mail from people over here, as well as continuing hits on our Taurus piece at the website.

I'll be attending something in the States for sure (unless one in Britain would be more convenient, sometimes the air fares are more competitive to Britain!)

Thanks Liz for the heads up! The only thing I've heard about the team as of late was that they have changed their name to "Team Diesel" after the administration change and they have plan to do a few rounds of LMES. I would love to know details of this "program" when it comes available.

Hope to see them out at the Silvestone LMES event at least.

The team has many supporters and it will be good to see how the improved car performs.

Wow! thats a really good idea! the concept of diesel is a contentious one amung sportscar fans so to get then on-board thru an "on site insight" would do no harm! im up for it! I must admit i wasnt a fan until i saw it at le mans last year!
