PI track maps
Hi all
I'm trying to run a lap-sim programme (Bosch) but it needs a track map. My logger creates a map but it is not compatible. The programme needs a *.mat file from the PI system. Anyone got one for Combe, Brands, etc? Cheers Matt |

Hi Matt,
I take it you've downloaded that program as a demo form the Bosch website? I've had a look into it as I've been creating my own lap sim but I've not had much luck with it. are you sure its a .mat file you want? I've checked both my pi and Aim systems and neither support that file for mapping? |

Yep it is the bosch one. The documents say PI system but no luck so far. I'll try opening one of the files in matlab and see what it looks like. It looks like a good programme, if anyone can get it to work!

EFI Technology's Analysis software (which is very similar to Pi V6) eports it's data set directly into Matlab format which might be able to be imported. I think a big stumbling block will be renaming all the relevant channels so the Bosch software will recognise it.
I'm pretty sure it also has a PI data conversion utility as well. You can download a demo here http://www.compsystems.com.au/Downlo...demo_setup.zip . I think the demo will et you convert the PI which can then be turned into a Matlab export. |

Hi,
I have worked with the Bosch system a couple of times in the F3 Euroseries. To be able to use the data from the Bosch logging device, you first have to download them to your computer with a sofware provided with the data logger. As far as I have understood, the data is somehow converted, not just copyed from the memory device. To generate the maps with the Bosch device, you have to have some chanells (long and lat acc). Unfortunately, the demo sw from the net does not allow you to load other data then the one provided in the demo. Andrei |

The PI software you need is either Pi V6lite or the Pi V6pro software they will import club expert .s1a files and you can export as .mat from V6 software. If you are running a Pi Delta lite logger there is an option to download to the V6 software. The std clubman software will not export as a .mat file and is no good for Lapsim you need Pi V6 software. I'm also keen to get hold of some track maps suitable for Lapsim, and have drawn a blank so far. Do British F3 teams use the Bosch system?
