LMES 2006 - China ?
Reported by Claude on Infocourse : it has been said today by Daniel Poissenot in an official Courage meeting that the LMES could spread to China in 2006, after having include the Turkish race for 2005...
That'd be 6 races... |

Is the Bathurst track to narrow? I would prefer that track.

Thanks for the update Fab.
I enjoy all of the news and rumours that spring up during Le Mans week as much as the race itself! |

I hope they don't go to China. As much as I'd love to see the LMES spread to a sixth race next year surely there are better venues than China?
If they want a flyaway race then Australia, Japan and Canada would be far better candidates, at least in my view... but then I guess they don't have those deep Shanghai pockets. |

I too would prefer to see the LMES go to Japan or Australia than China, but at least with China we are likely to get big crowds. Good to see the LMES possibly expanding to 6 events anyway IMO, even if it is China.

If the V8 Supercars can pull 50,000 people through the gates I guess the LMES should expect similar numbers if the promotion was done right.
I can't help but think a Japanese round would get an equal number of people at Suzuka, Motegi or Fuji (how great would that be?) and maybe even a few extra entries to boot with Team Goh and maybe another Dome car. |

Doesn't the JGTC have/plan a round in China? |

JGTC round in China was cancelled. Something to do with the cool relations between the two countries now.
LMES is endurance racing, I think whatever crowd you pull, by the 1 hour mark most of them will want to leave if they have not already left. Chinese people have very short attention span. Anyway I guess VAG is willing to pay for the race. |
