Perkins/Richo Holdens only hope????

Why dont we hear about Perkins/Richo being the only real hope left for the championship on holdens side?? Their are 5 rounds left Richo had pole at Bathurst and Symmons last year and only lost at Indy because on a broken gearstick so i think all Holden supporters should get behind Perkins and Richo and support our best Holden team.

I dont think they are the only real hope... Todd Kelly is still in with a shot... Mr Skaife is too but that Chinaman he ran over in Shanghai seems to come back at every round carrying a black cat, and falling in front of the #2 Commodore....

I didn't know Skaify was in Shanghai 2 years ago.

Still no one can admit or even comment apart from gtr that Richo can give this championship a shake!!! It always comes back to HRT and Skaife somehow. Perkins are basically a one car team on a budget i would expect is less then half of one HRT car (out of the 4) and they can still beat them on a regular basis. While i am at it HRTHSV or whatever they are called has only improved this year because Tom has obviously told HRT to help! and why wouldnt he when you have stakes in both teams. Bright has stakes in 2 teams and FPR/Britek are grouped because of it and Britek cant test ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????? but HRT/HRTHSV can. Now if you believe Auto Action (you cant) it could be 5 cars again HRT/HRTHSV/HRTHYL. BEAUTIFUL

I dont believe Richo will win the 2005 series...

I dont think the car is quick enough to lead from the front, and dominate, like the 2 SBR cars (and sometimes the leas 888 car) seem to be able to do.

Richo still works within his "accumulator" tag, although the car has been closer to the front this year than seasons past.

The team is largely one with a single focus, with the engineering talent directed towards the #11 car... thats not to say the guys preparing the other cars do a poor job, but they do lack an experienced race-hardened race engineer per car....

This means the #11 car is the primary focus, which is good for the driver of that car, but that the other 3 in the fleet will likely not be able to aid and assist by taking points off the championship competitors.

Sandown and Bathurst should see the car fast and reliable, with a quick second driver in Mr Dumbrell... but will the car be quick enough against the Symbol mafia, or indeed the PMM pair, or if the phases of the moon are right, a GRM car.... before even thinking about the Ford side of the fence.....

The enduros will set the tone for the rest of the year... if any of the frontrunners drop out, their championships will very much be hurt.... and knocked out too potentially

no they wont, because of the dropped round situation. they would have to stuff both enduros. and even if they finish 20th, they only drop 60 points on the winner, with the stupid points situation in the enduros (gaps of 3 points instead of the normal 6)

i think only ambrose, richo and ingall are the only one who can win it on the track, anyone else is hoping for a DNF. or very poor round in the final 3 races

The only drivers capable of winning the championship are the ones driving SBR Falcons . Anyone driving a Holden has almost no chance simply because the Holden is not fast enough .

Im a Falcon supporter but am still concerned about he strong potential of car 2 with a very strong driver pairing-

they are not to be underestimated -

Ross and Jimmy are always concerned about them as their main opponents (except now car 888with Lowndes and SBR/Little/Ludo prepping)

888 with Mr Lowndes and Mr Muller at the wheel are now a dulled attack.....

Looking at the race lap times at various circuits shows that the Falcon is anywhere between 2 to 6 tenths per lap quicker than the Commodore on a consistent basis . And that gap increases in the longer races as the tires become worn . In fact , the only regular circuit that they have visited where the Holden has been faster than the Ford is Hidden Valley . So some cars are more ' fast ' than others .

Can't be faster, all cars have the same gearbox ratios and the same final drive ratios - quicker yes, faster no

Marcos Skaife has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

Does this mean that the Holden needs a parity adjustment??

Wouldn't laugh too much . If Ford were to take out both the Championship and Bathurst , there would be a high probability that there would be pressure from Holden for some sort of performance adjustment between the Holden and Ford . Or the new VE Commodore race car might be allowed a few extra concessions .

After all , cannot have one make winning both Bathurst and the championship , can we ?

If Ambrose has a shocker in one of the last 3 rounds (which is infinitely possible) and scores 0 for a round that he cannot drop, then the championship is ripe for the picking by whoever else is close enough and wants to pounce. Good results at the enduros for some of the second pack of drivers could get some of them into the hunt.

Here's hoping Skaife's Chinaman decides to hitch a ride with Ambrose for a while.... don't like my chances though, that guy has some teflon coated, reverse-voodoo thing going.
