With the ongoing foot and mouth crisis, will it affect BTCC races?
I have heard reports that it might even affect sporting events until May. After all the Mobil 1 British Rally has been postponed for now, as has some cricket match. |

It may, but I think it's only right at this time not to be worrying about the BTCC, but about all the farmers who have this on their farm, because it'll ruin their lives.

well said pal.its hitting the farmers up here pretty bad so any way to stop it spreading would have to be taken.....even if it meant putting our beloved touring car season all to cock!..

See Trackside Forum
MSA have suspended all rallies, trials, autocross, rallycross, etc on or near agricultural land until further notice. This doesn't effect circuit racing YET but give it time. I can see Silverstone being the first to go as it's surrounded by farmland. |

Nearly all circuits have farms next to them so it looks like its a matter of when and not if the events are cancelled.

Silverstone have installed big 'sponges' with disinfectant in them at the entrance.

I think we should get rid of the disease before we do anyhting else-even if it does mean delaying (or even abandoning?) the BTCC.

the BTCC could never be abandoned all together.Just think of the dissapointment that would be given to the fans.me included.the worst that could happen is that we maybe miss the first 3 races and have add these races to the end of the calendar.no BTCC this year......that would be so PANTS

If the races do get cancelled perhaps vauxhall should write to Richard West suggesting he use his BTC Challenge rules instead.

I too feel very sorry about the foot and mouth situ.
But hey maybe we could have all the rounds run on street circuits near the original track. I.e Donnington at Nottingham just a thought |
