ALMS 2006 ?marks

Has anyone heard anything about Titan, Panhard, Honda, Dodge, Rahal, Andretti Green, Dick Barbour, Bell Motorsports, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Riley, Miracle P1 or any other rumors that have been disscused? It seems like nothing in this series ever develops.

Aston Martin - said to be numerous buyers of DBR9's, but Prodrive say if nobody enters the ALMS then they'll do it themselves. Ferrari - the 430 is due to be in GT2 competition next year - think an American team is yet to be found to run the car.

I have a feeling that Risi is going to drop the Mazzo and run a pair of 430's. Mazzaratti dosen't seem 100% comitted to the ALMS. Just a feeling though.

since the company has ditched the MC12, I wouldn't be surprised for them to put less than 100% into it. Would be nice to see Risi plonk the 430 in ALMS

That would be a great idea in my opinion !!! If somebody wants to be so arrogant as to design an illegal car , then it should never have been allowed to race in the first place ..... like BMW did a few years back in the ALMS . Kick it out !!! Its called "taking the ****" .

There will be at least 6 LMP1 full time entrants next year, and a very good chance of at least 4 LMP2 entries.

We will see at least two new LMP1 designed cars racing fulltime next year, with the possibility of 2 more running limited schedules.

GT1 should stay the same it is (probably add 2 Aston's), except maybe adding a Maserati, if Risi decideds to go that route, and not the 430 one. although Ferrari does want a team running a 430 in america. it will probably come down to who offers them more money (maserati or ferrari)

Seeing as the Maserati GT2 is being designed specifically for 'ACO events', according to Autosport, you would think Risi would be very interested. Maybe to replace the MC12s in 2007?

P1

2 x Champion R8
2 x Dyson Lola LMP1
1 x Zytek ?
1 x Riley LMP1 ?

Which one would run on Kumho tyres?

P2

1 x Miracle C65
1 x Intersport Lola
2 x Penske Porsche
1 x Mazda C65

GT1

2 x C6R
2 X Astons
1 x Acemco Saleen
2 x Maserati

Reasons to be optimistic at least.

Now who will run cutomer Porsche P2s in 2007?

you wont see Van der Steur run their Lola B2k/40 next year in the ALMS. they will have a new car. The same may be the case for Autocon. the team is exploring to possibly buy a new car (according to a Bryan Willman interview i read somewhere)

It was on RacingFanatics, and this quote
Quote:
there are a number of people that have made clear to me, there willingness to sell me a car
led me to think that he wasn't necessarily talking about Autocon getting a new car...

Bryan Willman was interviewed on the grid at RA by RLM in which he said they are working to be back next year with a new car, and hopefully for the whole season.

He wouldn't be drawn on whether it was an LMP or GT.
