Peugeot is outsourcing its WRC engines, and has been looking for someone to do its Le Mans diesel engine. They don't have the in-house capabilities since they more or less sold Peugeot Sport to Asiatech. The Ricardo project has what it takes, since it's a race unit and won't weight tons. And the Vaillante was already "Peugeot"-Judd powered.

Ian Dawson is doing other things at the moment, but is optimistic that the Lola diesel will be out racing in 2006.

Exactly, it would have to be a hybrid, or a new Lola.

the B2k/10 is getting a bit old, even if they do the hybrid package on it (which would be required if it was to race in europe).. Or race in America with the current package?

Ian Dawson behind the new Trident Iceni Bio-Diesel?
Maybe it's Ian Dawson who's behind the new Trident Iceni Bio-Diesel. It hails from Norfolk which I believe is Ian Dawson territory.
Makes a lot of sense. There's always room in motorsport for yet another Phoenix!! Purely speculation though |

I believe ian dawson is looking for funding/ or got funding to resurface with the taurus.
It was black flagged or warned i think for the black smoke it was producing- overfuelling?? Then i think the clutch went as did the project for that year. I do know that he is NOT involved with the trident project, although it is based in norfolk aswell. This trident is a phoenix taken back from broadley who ran it into the ground. Too old and fussy i think.... The new car is exactly that..new, as no-one wanted to touch what e.b. had done to the trident since 2000-2002. |

The Valliente Lola is owned by Bob Berridge. Ian Dawson was funded by the Government Motorsport Unit! The cars are now with Andy Dawson near Silverstone. The Trident project is designed, built and owned by Phil Bevan.
