Drivers leaving rallycross?

As things are a bit quiet here at the moment I thought I would ask the question.
I have noticed that Mike Howlin, Dave Ward and Bill Harbour have all got their cars up for sale and in Mike and Dave's cases they have their motor homes for sale as well.
Does anyone know if they are just clearing out to make room for new projects or are they leaving rallycross?
maybe more info this weekend as Mike and Dave are entered for Croft

Dave Wards car was up for sale a while back and he was rumoured to be building a new car (new shape Corsa). The new car has never materialised and he's reappeared with the old one so it's anyones guess there! Howlins car is getting on a bit but is still a competitive (and spectacular) proposition, but again with the sale of the motorhome he could be leaving the sport. I hadn't seen Harbours car for sale but did see an advert for engine and car bits and bobs placed by him - although looking at them it didn't seem to be anything off his current car.

Maybe some of those heading to Croft can do some digging......

Nittymaki has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
With regards to drivers mentioned leaving the sport then this is what I know:
Dave Ward was indeed building a new Corsa this plan has now been shelved and he plans to sell current Corsa and go circuit racing as he has had enough of the driving standards and contact in the sport, plus he has been in rallycross for quite a number of years and wants to try something different.
Mike Howlin plans to sell the current car and has a new shape Fiesta SuperNational car in build which will be ready early next year.
Dont know about Bill Harbour at all.

Also for sale is Helmet's car, as is Gollop's, and I believe that Dermot would sell his car for the right money.

Thanks for all the info. The Bill Harbour 'sale' was probably me just not reading what he was selling correctly.
Lets hope that all the others are just clearing a space for far bigger and better projects and that they will all be back again next season along with those that we know are engaged with building new cars.

Dermots been selling the car for the past 3 years for the right money !

Dunno i have to admit, circuit racing at the moment seems more appealing to me than rallycross...

We thought the same thing. Having been to watch it though, we soon changed our minds. Personally.......it just isn't as exciting.

Good for you Twiglet! Also, I've had a look at the various entries at events this year. Basically, the average number of starters is increasing and there are more new drivers (particularly in Stock Hatch, but also in SuperMods) than I remember in recent years. This is across BRDA, RPL and MDA events. I've also seen and heard of a number of cars being built or being tested including several at Lydden in track days. So while some of the big names may be moving on, there are plenty of others coming along too.
