Thunder Road-AMRS
The 2006 Stockcar Thunder Road Series has been officially launched
> today, at the Lexmark Indy 300 on the Gold Coast. Series Manager, > Nigel Benson was enthusiastic about the prospect of the 2006 series, > and is looking forward to the thundering V8 Stockcars taking to > Australian circuits once again. Interested competitors should check > out the 2006 outline, available for download here, for all the > details of the Series... Can anyone here tell us more? or is this a "Bob Jane, Great idea at the time" innovation? |

Bob's been trying - on and off - to get NASCAR's (or more precisely AUSCARS) back on the circuit for a couple of years now. At his Melburne 'Mini Launch' a few weeks ago he stated that the Thunderdome was going to be 'worked on' to remove the bumps on the start straight but didn't give any further indication of what would be happening.
AMRS are, at this stage, leaving it up to each category to provide their own media coverage. |

Not sure - but have a meeting on Thursday with someone who may be able to shed some light on them (and other AMRS categories) if you can wait tha long.

G'day,
Nigel Benson is the main man as far as the Stockcar Thunder Road Series goes. He'll be managing the category for 2006 and beyond. You can contact him directly via email: enquiries@usathunder.com.au or mobile: 0409 933 913 if you've got queries about the series. I can confirm that Bob Jane doesn't have anything to do with the category. There's also a website: www.usathunder.com.au that should receive some significant updates very soon. Cheers, Sam Dale. |

This is great!! I love NASCARs and I can't wait to see them next year. I hope they get some good fields and competitive racing. It's something that I would certainly be interested in getting into in the future.
