Just an idea for '06 Le Mans
with the possiable demise of the DTM and the new S2 rules. Why not allow the ex-DTM cars to compete against the S2 cars. Hybridise the DTM machines to equalise them to the S2 cars and let them go. Audi has some spare drivers and they cant get them all into the R10. so let them run the DTM stuff again at Le Mans. It would be interesting to see anyway. There are a few of the current generation DTM running in endurance spec in Germany, England and I believe Brazil. So this could work. maybe spuring others to join the series quicker. Even bringing new life to the DTM series.

DTM cars....I prefer not....
If there would be room for an extra class I would go for the JGTC. |

However there is no need - entries are considerable anyway. The DTM cars are fantastic (and quick - compare a DTM lap time and an Audi R8 around Spa!), however they aren't Sportscars. You might as well allow an M3 while you are at it. . |

Le Mans was originally a touring car event!
Yes, a Grand Touring event. You can call a blower-Bentley hardly a ordinairy touringcar. But a Opel/Vauxhall Vectra certainly is. |

Ah, a semantics discussion. I don't call a blower-Bentley ordinary, obviously. However not all entries in Le Mans have been as special - or perhaps I mean special in that way.
